[All Englands Skies;]Most people who blab on about equality, are as my Dad used to bluntly say " Hypocrites who are full of **** "
I wasn't talking about your dad. You're the one that thinks the phrase relevant after all.
Apple doesn't fall too far from the tree eh? He sounds like a wonderful man, I'm sure you must be proud.
[All Englands Skies]Not wonderful, I ain't talked to him for years and I admit it.
Doesnt mean every point he made was moot though, just because I dont like the bloke.
Also again, in a typical fashion you're trying to imply I am "ignorant" in order to justify the fact I find most people who pipe on about equality to be hypocrites.
Half of them lets say slate Christianity and stereotype us, but then go on about tolerance when it comes to any other religion, lifestyle or belief.
Of course in the typical fashion, when somebody confronts them, you present a defense in the same vein as "You bigot, intolerant person", rather than even thinking why I think such people are hypocrites, you try an attempt to just make out I am "Intolerant".
But shouting "intolerance (or racism, sexism, xenephobe)" to anybody against you is always a tactic of those of left wing standards.

I like your duck avatar. The Old Mallard. Fine Duck.
Don't let the Theophobes get you down![]()
The only one who panders to crude stereotypes (is there any other kind?) is you. You love to harp on about the left, about those who desire to see an even playing field for all and your intolerance of their/my viewpoint aptly illustrates a mindset that seems to ever so slightly border on bitterness. I'm not talking about Christianity. I am referring to the rights that should be bestowed upon two consenting adults of the same sex being able to marry, as I was free to marry my beautiful wife.
I haven't called you a bigot and nor will I. I can only go by the comments I read. I base an assumption, as do you, about the type of character you possess and I conclude that you're very staunch in your dislike, perhaps even disdain, for those liberals who have a differing worldview. You're the one who talked about your father and I merely, and seemingly correctly, inferred that the apple hasn't rolled too far from the tree. Perhaps his influence was strong in your life. I'm thankful that I had parents that instilled a sense of fairness and equal rights into my life. It affords me the opportunity to be less judgemental towards those who look and act differently to me.
I see the line 'love conquers all' under your name. Seems somewhat ironic considering the views you espouse.
Yeah, the regular "Leftists stereotype"! meme is still being used without any sense of irony, it would seem.
I am not against stopping people having gay marriage, purely that I find it immoral on the basis of faith, but its still there choice at the end of the day.
Out of interest outside of Christianity what do you think about homosexuality?
If the bible made no mention of homosexuality would you still think it was immoral? If the bible was anti heterosexuality and said you had to sleep with men to be a moral person would you?
Before I was Christian I actually hated homosexuals, thought they were degenerate, dirty freaks.
Since becoming Christian, I reconise they are human beings, the Bible makes it clear homosexuality (or acting upon it) is a sin, however that doesnt mean homoexuals are bad people because they struggle with sin.
The latter questions I am not going to answer, as they're loaded questions, in which the only possible answers are "tunnelled" and will serve your own agenda. also moot as we have only got the Bible we have, so such a hypothetical question has no relevence, it would also cease to be the same faith.
Fair enough. I'm just interested if people get their prejudices from religion, or whether they are inherrent to the person and expressed through religion.
I don't really have an agenda. I have gay friends, and even know a gay Christian, but I actually really enjoy knowing as many different types of people as possible as I find it more interesting to find out about the broadest spectrum of the human experience!
What made you hate homosexuals before you became a Christian? Did you have any gay friends? I must say I find the ultra camp/loud homosexuals a bit annoying, but that is because I find anyone who is loud and draws attention to themselves annoying. None of the gay people I know fit any kind of stereotype though and you wouldn't know they were gay unless they told you.
I'm just wondering if you hated the stereotype rather than the actual people.
I had a friend at school who eventually came out of the closet recently, but I dont talk to him much anymore, simply due to lost contact.
After leaving school I came to revile homosexuals (and also ethnic minorities) by getting into extreme Nationalism/bordering on Neo-Nazism.
Some will always be more equal than others. But we need to learn to be respectful to one another.

Correct so where's the problem in all enjoying marriage if they choose?
Since the English parliament seem to have passed that legislation homosexual people in England will likely be able to marry. I gather they will do so with or without my approval![]()
Why should they need your approval to get married, you wouldn't seek theirs if you were about to get hitched now would you?
