I am not after your respect. It's clear from some of your responses in this thread and others that I and others who question certainly don't have yours by default of your own bias. All I am asking is that you do not flood threads like these with your insults and generalizations. Whoever put the "idiots in tinfoil" tag has also added to the non-discussion and mocking.
How do you know that tag wasn't made by one of your colleauges in reference to the rest of us?

Because the term is generally applied to people who do not swallow whatever they see on mass media corporate news, not to those who take most everything they see on the news box as the truth.

Um, no.

It's applied to people who come up with crackpot theories about things simply because they can't accept things at face value. They look for agendas where there isn't any.

I don't buy into everything media tells me, but I don't smell a conspiracy every time there's inconsistencies.

You know, I think it's time we got to the bottom of this. So I'm setting up a charity called Photographers and Graphic Artists for Sandy Hook Truth, which will use your money to promote the investigation fo this conpiracy and expose the governments role!

There will also be a signup page where anyone who is once took a picture with their iPhone or who downloaded Photoshop to make cat meme pictures for Facebook can add their name to the register of professionals who want the truth to be known.

Um, no.

In other words, the "face value" of the official story aired by national corporate news networks. Anyone who questions such official stories has come up with a "crackpot theory" right?

They look for agendas where there isn't any.

Clearly, gun control isn't an issue. No agenda here. Obama hasn't said he would use executive orders, a special presidential "task force" to curb gun violence wasn't assembled, and lengthy legislation wasn't put on the table shortly after the event. Oh wait, that's all true. But, no agenda right?

I don't buy into everything media tells me, but I don't smell a conspiracy every time there's inconsistencies.

Can you name 1, just 1 major or semi major event that:

-Was covered extensively by NATIONAL CORPORATE (not just local) NEWS and...

- You held a minority opinion that was NOT popular and...

- You believed either the government and/or media was involved in a cover-up or conspiracy or major deception and...

- You would not be afraid to publicly voice an opinion on because of a "conspiracy theorist/nut job" label.

Can you just name 1 event that fit all those criteria?

I would pose a similar question to you...can you name a popular conspiracy that (you think) involves the government that you don't believe in? JFK, 9/11, Waco, Aurora shooting, Newtown shooting, Osama Bin Laden's death...etc.? Please point out which ones you think are supported by real facts, and which ones are just the result of people projecting their distrust of government into wild speculation and reactionary explanations.

And now we know who added the "tinfoil hat brigade" tag

Since you didn't quote anyone, and your post followed mine...I can honestly state that I didn't add any tags to this thread, although I regularly do. But I wholeheartedly support whomever added that tag, because it falls right in line with the point I was making. It's not that this one thing is a conspiracy, it's that everything is. :)

Can't believe I forgot that one...I live in Oklahoma City. Of course, that means I was in on it. ;)

Do the fema death camps really have automated guillotines? Or do they just have Freddy or Jason doing security?

They have Freddy and Jason doing security, unless the rest of us can prove that they don't exist. As long as you can make something up, it's true unless your opponent can prove a negative. /conspiracy 101

Btodd, sarcastically kidding, of course...but with a point

"Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Ideas must be distinct before reason can act upon them..." - Thomas Jefferson

Hmm, "idiots in tinfoil" (original tag) is ridicule just like "tinfoil hat brigade" (what it was changed to)

And now we know who added the "tinfoil hat brigade" tag

Not a lot of people were on this sub-forum when I brought up the original tag, which was changed within a few minutes. You were one of them, Btodd, and if I understand this forum right, a person has to be logged in to create a tag.

I'm sure a mod could check it if he or she was so inclined.

I never said either of those things. Another example of you making things up, and expecting others to disprove them. Once again...you're wrong. I would gladly admit to it if I had done it, because I'm that kinda guy.

ETA: Have a mod check it. I dare you.

Oh my. I just read a reviewer's synopsis of that book on Amazon and I don't know if I could read it. That from someone who considers himself able to stomach uncomfortable truths. Got nauseous just reading the review.
