• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No, you won't; or I'm sure you would have done it already.

For example, I believe posting pornography is one justification for banning someone outright; with no prior warning.

If you're saying you have justification for banning me outright, I say you're wrong.

He was quite clear: he'll detail it to someone legitimate. You're not.

And who cares what you think? You openly claim you post nothing of quality.

How does this sound to you grown-ups?

It sounds like a fellow-Christian cringing with shame every time you post your ignorance, wishing you wouldn't in case agnostics and atheists actually thought I might think the same things because I also trust in the Lord. It sounds like someone lamenting that so many people like you post on forums like this. It's the sound of someone, frustrated with the shallowness of much of American Christianity, sadly begging you, without any hope, to reconsider your current course. You can call that childish if you wish, or you can think about why a fellow-Christian would single you out in a forum full of agnostics and atheists and ask YOU to consider changing your posting strategy.

I somehow don't consider this:
I actually wish AV would get banned. He drags down the tone of every thread he enters and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Basically, he's a childish little punk that can't answer a straight question or admit his own inconsistencies. I don't know why I wasted time trying to answer him in the Global Warming thread, and I really hate it when I discover that I've wasted time on yet another navel-gazing, attention deficit internet troll. VOMIT!
... as 'begging me, without any hope, to reconsider my current course,' or, 'asking me me to consider changing my posting strategy.'

In fact, your post wasn't even addressed to me, was it?

In any event, you're certainly welcome to your opinion; but I'll pass on following your advice.

Why don't you take the time to find out what I really stand for first, before you go off half-cocked, just because you don't like my user title or something I said?

You posted absolute DRIVEL in a thread on global warming, and I asked you some very specific theological questions in response. Politely.

You then acted like an embarrassing internet troll, and (for the 2nd or 3rd time, if I remember correctly), just refused to answer specific theological questions put to you. You've totally derailed any semblance of a normal thread. That's your goal isn't it? Rather than any real conversation about the science of global warming, you just barge in like an internet troll and make the entire conversation about you.

And now you're asking me to spend my precious time following you around on these forums to learn what you really think? Do the powers of your comprehension stretch far enough to understand that was exactly what I was trying to do in the global warming thread: ask you what you thought? From a Christian, theological point of view?

But you didn't have the manners to answer. So I don't really care what you think or why you think it: I just know I don't want Christianity tainted by association with you. From the self-serving nature of your posts, I'm wondering what you really stand for. It certainly isn't the gospel.

How about a link to it, and I'll take a second look?

I don't really know what thread you're talking about.

I don't discuss global warming with anyone; and you're no exception.

But I'm curious as to what this 'abosolute DRIVEL' is.

I can't even remember the last time I ever discussed global warming with anyone.

I vaguely remember making the point with someone that if you put ice cubes in an empty glass, then fill the glass to the very brim and walk away and let all the ice melt, not one drop will spill over the edge of the glass.

But that's about it.

You're so busy spamming so many threads with your drivel that you don't even know which threads you're in any more! If you don't discuss global warming with anyone, what on earth is this comment doing in a global warming thread?

Indeed, you trolled in direct response to my lamenting about global warming denialists!

Basically, if I were you I would slow down, take a cup of warm milk, and breathe. Then, if you're going to post in a thread try and, say, just for novelty, read the title of the thread you're posting in. Then if you really want to get radical, you might actually read the material in the thread. And deal with the substantive points put to you. For after your flippancy in post 175 (quoted above) I then replied with some serious questions asking you why you found global warming theologically objectionable. You just remained glib and silly in your replies. And ended up talking about yourself and your post count and other silliness. In other words, you're so busy talking about yourself you don't even know what thread you're commenting in!:doh:

I will restate my point with greater emphasis: when someone with a shred of legitimacy asks me for a reason, I'll be happy to give them one -- or several, as the case may be.

Let's face it. It's not like it is a specifically hard request to answer.
