CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Civilizations that lived along streams tended to have flood myths. Streams tend to flood. Hmmm, perhaps there is a relation.

Although regional in scope, the flood described in Genesis was no routine flooding event. After 40 days of rain, the Great Deluge kept Noah and family on the ark for over a year. (And, of course, some assert that the Black Sea may be the surviving remnant of those flood waters.) So we would indeed expect the event to be remembered through the "flood stories" of those cultures.

Once again, the Noah tale is only a story that grew with the telling. A regional flood negates the need for an Ark. The Black Sea flood was a flood that you could have crawled away from. It would have been the pits for any village on the former border of the lake. If you wanted to live next to the lake the whole village would have to have been moved hundreds of feet every day. It was not a catastrophic flood.
Soon I will be able to link and back this up. If you don't trust me go to the Wiki entry on the Black Sea deluge hypothesis and put some use the numbers provided to estimate how quickly it would advance every day.

Noah was a real historical person and there was a real flood. The impact of Noah's flood has been felt by the whole world right up to today because you and I are still talking about it.
Today with DNA that pretty much makes or breaks it. Because you should be able to trace the generations of all four of Noah's Sons / children. Fact is the cities that his sons founded are still there today for your investigation.
I doubt if you have even read the Bible, so you are pretty much just offering your opinion on something that you know nothing about. Just how many days, weeks, months and years have you put into the study of this subject?

There are some problems with that. The Black Sea flood was thousands of years before Noah's flood. Also even the dates that they use for the Black Sea Flood are questionable as to just how accurate they are. Still the Black Sea Flood was an epic event, no doubt about that. There were people involved in the Black Sea Flood. They do find artifacts. Of course these are the same people that found the Titanic, so they got a little bit going for them. But then after having found the Titanic someone else registered it, so that makes you wonder if they are not a few fries short of a happy meal even with their fancy boat all their underwater equipment. I wanted to build one of those underwater camera at one time. My son figured out how to do it, we just never got around to order the parts.

What is adjunkated? Do you mean adjudicated? I have an uncle that paid a million dollar to get a building at the university named after him, does that count? Of course the real issue is that Jesus is a legal descendant of David and has the right to the throne of David. That maybe difficult to prove in a court of law. Unless maybe you are in a Hebrew Court.

Nope, no genetic bottle neck for mankind in the last 4,000 years. In fact the last human bottle neck occurred about 70,000 years ago when the human population got down to about 15,000 people. Google search "Toba human genetic bottleneck". And 15,000 people is just a few more than 8.

No, the sedimentary rocks that we find are not those of flood water. They reflect many different environments, some of them with deposit rates of millimeter a year of less. At a surface glance it might seem like they could have been deposited in a flood, but it does not take too much study to debunk that notion.
Once again, flood geology was debunked 200 years ago. We have only added more knowledge since that shows how wrong that idea was.

Sorry, myth has nothing to do with a debate about science. You might as well use the Bible to prove that pi is equal to three, that the Earth is flat, or that the Earth is orbited by the Sun. All claims that can be found in the Bible.

Today, in just the same day, we can observe thousands of different environments on the whole earth. If a global flood has to happen today, the results will be the same diversity of environments.
And "sedimentary" rocks, by definition are made of... "sediments"... which are deposited... a global flood happened, just for definition.

No, a global flood would cover the entire Earth at the same time. When the sedimentary rocks were deposited a good part of the sediments always came from... land.
So no, the sedimentary rocks are evidence against a global flood.

We see sediments forming right now, and no global flood is needed.
Even more, the sediments we do see are often separated by millions of years. Sediments that have dinosaurs date to before 65 million years ago. There is no global sediment layer that dates to 4,000 years ago.
