No, he said 47% weren't going to vote for a Republican anyway because they were dependent on the government for their income. He was right too, as evidenced by the election.

Yeah and he also said those 47% didn't care about their lives and only wanted government handouts... including retired seniors and veterens.

Yeah and he also said those 47% didn't care about their lives and only wanted government handouts... including retired seniors and veterens.
What he said was:

"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it -- that that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. ... These are people who pay no income tax. ... [M]y job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

He was not refering to veterans or retired people who actually EARNED their pensions. He was referring to the "Obama phone" crowd who were supporting Obama because he promised them free things. In the end, he was right. The votes of those sucking wealth from the producers overwhelmed the votes of the producers.

Sorry, but that 47% figure includes retired seniors and many veterans.

If they would vote for Obama no matter what, as the premise states, then of course they are included. It's a waste of resources trying to get people you know you will never get, which is what Romney was saying. If a retired senior ot a vetran voted for Obama, then I have little respect for their lack of judgement. Regardless, the election is over and I really don't care much for politics. You can't educate an Obama voter anyway. All you can do is go back to work and ignore them.

Do you understand that the 47% who do not pay income taxes include retired seniors who worked most their life and many veterans who fought for their country, or not? If you agree, then you either have to conclude that Romney was refering to them as well, or didn't know what he was talking about. Take your pick.

As far as arguing politics is concerned, you are the one who brought politics up, and for no good reason I can discern.

You don't seem to comprehend this. Romney was saying that 47% of Americans would vote for Obummer anyway because they didn't pay taxes and were dependent on the government for "entitlements." Veterans and retired seniors who supported Romney were obviously not in the mix. As for the others, if they were going to vote for the other guy anyway why waste money trying to win them over?

The 47% is pretty selective outrage considering the administration watched and did nothing for 7 hours while 4 Americans were murdered and people like you thought that made for a good president.

you must take all of bible literally if not you not follow bible and you must burn because you call word not true.

That's rubbish.

I take all of the Bible according to how a given pericope was meant to be read. When Jesus said, "I am the door", he did NOT expect me to "take it literally" and think that he is a set of joined planks of wood mounted on hinges.

So burn whatever you wish. I prefer what the Bible says to what your sect and traditions happen to say.

[Just as in Jesus' day, there's always "more holy" Pharisees who think they can decree what everyone else must find in the Bible---simply because their favorite traditions say so. They don't care what the Bible actually says.]

Maybe I made a mistake in assuming the worst about Jamin, in which case he is welcome to correct me. My previous experience with him doesn't give the impression of a subtle thinker who can appreciate the kind of issues you brought up with homeless people, hence my reading of his comment. I hope that helps you understand where I'm coming from.

That after conversing with somebody in a chat forum a bit you can understand where they are coming from?
I've not seen that happen yet over the past couple of years.

That's so interesting that you speak about "what the Bible actually says" without creating any links to the passage or even refering to the actual usage. I would not think of "a set of joined planks of wood mounted on hinges" as a good description for the enterance to a pasture.

Bible literalists keep the words of Scripture in context. Not take them out of context as you seem to have been trained to do.
I'd walk out of your sermons any day and find a literal church. And I do that often.

To be fair, everyone should pay taxes on their income, no matter the amount.
Nobody should be getting a tax-free ride.

THIS THREAD QUESTION IS FOR EVERYBODY, anybody can answer and participate in the discussion.

Do those who literally interpret the passages in Genesis 1-9 also literally interpret these passages:

1 - Women should not teach or have authority over men.
2 - Nobody should work on the Sabbath.
3 - Pork and shellfish are unclean and should not be eaten.
4 - Women should not wear pants.
5 - Nobody should wear clothes woven with different fabrics.
6 - Nobody should sit in the same place a woman during her period has sat.

And so on...

All that God commands is good. Who argues with God. If God is for us, who can be against us. Does God glorify each? Of Course. Who is arrogant enough to disagree with God? Only the enemies of God. Does God do all things from love? God is love. God loves each. God is perfect. Perfect peace, perfect love, perfect joy, perfect understanding. God is all.

Unless you can avoid paying V.A.T. then basically everyone pays taxes, even the homeless.

Yah....we don't have that.
No I mean the Fed Gov should tax everyone with no free rides, even for those who get the money should pay some tax on it.

John 18:36
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
