  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Listen my friend, no one here is denying that God is goodness itself, or that He is perfection (well CabVet may disagree, but that's for another time ;)) what we're telling you is WE are not goodness itself, or perfection. WE are FALLEN. Otherwise, we would've had no need for Jesus sacrifice.

I would agree about Jesus being goodness and perfection. The God of the old testament? Not so much... He was a mean one! Killed too many. In addition, He didn't make us well enough the first time and had to wipe out everything with a flood. That didn't work either, so He had to sacrifice His son, not much perfection either... ;)

I don't disagree with a single word you posted, but WE are not perfect, until after the judgement, and we have reached heaven.

Thank you. :)
Please humble with me. "be ye perfect..." How are we to be perfect...with God only. God alone is perfection. If God is perfection, than only with God fully, can one be perfect, since God alone is perfection. Deny thyself, meaning totally denying thyself and let God have complete control. By His mercy alone. After judgment, God is all that is for those that believe in Him. God is all. It is God alone that is the perfect. Regardless of position. We have proof of this in the story of satan, that attempted to become all that God already is.

Does that mean you finally admit nobody has enough faith to move a mountain?

We could get into the fact that sin (the fall) is what caused all of that, but I'm sure you've heard it more times than you can count. Btw, still praying that God can bring you around, as it were!

Haha, I thank the prayers :) . What I don't get is why put a tree in there, with good looking fruits, a snake to tempt them, and then say: "not this one". Especially when He fully knew what would happen.

From everything I've been able to determine, because of free will. God knew we would fall, so He sort of pre-engineered how it would happen, to make it possible for our eventual redemption. Everything had to work just right for Jesus' sacrifice to take place as it did. God never wanted is as robots, and what good is free will of there isn't anything there to choose? The greatest part of our free will, is our ability to choose what is right. Much like the greatest show of power is refraining from using it.

*addendum* Please know, that I'm far from finished in my exploration of that question. This is just what I think so far. Take care CabVet, God bless!

All of Gods own can "move a mountain" by the grace of God alone. All of those that disagree are against Jesus Himself. :)

That was not my question, you are avoiding it again. The question was: is there anybody in the world with enough faith to move a mountain? You still did not give me a yes or no answer.

Thanks, yeah, I get all that, I just don't see much logic in it. Along with all the slavery and child killing in the OT. And of course, the intolerance displayed by many so-called "Christians" today.

God has already overcome. Gods truth, is the truth. :)

By all means, let God be true and every man a liar. For the truth is of God alone. He alone created it all.

So, when you say "every man is a liar", does that mean you are a liar?

Oh my friend, there is a lot to that, and I'm a bit too exhausted to get into it at the moment. Bear with me, and I'll see if I can answer you in the morning.
