I BELIEVE God exists, which makes God ACTUALLY exist, therefore, science is bunk.

Other than the 'science is bunk' part, isn't that how Anselm argued (unconvincingly) for the existence of God?

I don't. The Hebrew cosmology on which YEC literalism is based wasn't even widely accepted by the time of the prophets, and the idea that YEC must be accepted as a matter of doctrine is less than a century old. I believe that the earth looks like it's very old because it is very old; not because God deceptively made it look very old.

Also, there's a reason the Genesis creation accounts were written in poetic rather than narrative style, and that's because its meaning was poetic. It's about moral instruction, not history or science.

Nooo I love science. I don't think it's ALL bunk. I love discovery and exploration. If I had any math skills at all, I'd probably be an Astronomer, Geologist or Archeologist right now. So no, I don't have a disdain for science as it seems most young earth creationists are.

I just think there are alternative ideas, thoughts, theories. I refuse to believe in the naturalistic view because God does exist.

Just because you BELIEVE God exists doesn't mean he ACTUALLY does. that's why they call it faith, right? If God's existance was knowledge, we wouldn't have atheists.

So you BELIEVE God exists. But you're taking that further. Because you BELIEVE God exists, you assume that you actually have knowledge that God DOES exist. So now you KNOW God exists, and you KNOW the Bible is correct by extension. That eliminates any possibility of evolution being right to you. Therefore, science is bunk because God DOES exist because you BELIEVE God exists.

While I believe that God CAN create it as "old" as 4.3 billion years, I agree with you.

Absolutely.
Our Church (The Zero Malabar Catholic Church) teaches the same that it was written by the people to the people of that era. It wasn't meant to be a science text book.

Also, the Holy Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit, so we need his help to understand it fully.

Though since Europeans do share some DNA with Neanderthals it would be interesting if they were the partial product of a soulless creature. Though if you look at the history of European colonialism you might believe there was something wrong with the souls of people who would commit the acts they did, but I digress ...

All humans have some Neanderthal DNA, not just Europeans. And contrary to popular belief, they were no less intelligent than homo sapiens...their brains were actually bigger!

It's believed that since homo sapiens had better social skills and larger communities, they out-survived and outlasted the neanderthals...
