Got my issue announcement for GSA (Geological Society of America) Today and noticed that the article for this month was titled "The Evolution of Creationism."

It's an interesting article that looks at the changes in creationist thought over the past 400 years or so. Not much that hasn't been said on here before, but it's interesting to see it in a scientific publication.

A very good article.. thanks for posting it. I also recommend this link, which goes into more detail on the topic: History of the Collapse of Flood Geology and a Young Earth. From what I have seen here, very few YECs actually have any knowledge of the history of creationism, nor the fact that their ideas were rejected by Christian geologists back in the nineteeth century for reasons which had nothing to do with evolution.

I don't have time, and I don't like to read this one. I think it would be a waste of time.

For example, did he explain what is the content of Creationism? I guess he did not.

So what? Christian geologists reject their ideas today, do they not? and what does being a geologist have to do with rejecting creationism? can't Christian astronomers reject creationism as well?

In his inaugural address to the Princeton Theological Seminary in 1812, Archibald Alexander (1772–1851) promoted the need for scientific literacy among those preparing for the ministry. Alexander noted that natural history, and geology in particular, could help resolve difficult or ambiguous Bible passages. He preached that Christians should respect truth in all its forms because failure to take heed of scientific knowledge would only breed contempt for believers and hinder the spreading of the Gospel.

I doubt that if Archibald Alexander were alive today that he would approve of the many scientific misrepresentations found in the creationist literature.

The answer to your question is "yes." While I realize that you are one of the few creationists here that do not make claims that science supports creationism, many do. It would be worth their time to read about why ideas like the global flood were rejected by geologists back in the 19th century. I also read on the internet all the time about "evolutionary bias" for rejecting a young earth and a global flood. This is nonsense, but many believe it because they have read it on the internet.
