The word "saved" in Luke 8:12 is "sozo" G4982.
"Sozo" in Strong's or Thayer's or Smith's means saved, healed, be made whole, preserved, protected, delivered, do well, kept safe, rescue, save from suffering a disease, restore to health, save from perishing, recover, get well, save from injury.
"Saved" in the dictionary means the same as the Greek. Why limit the meaning of the word to being born-again when the Greek doesn't?
You are absolutely correct!
Thanks for bringing that out.

NT:4982

The word "salvation (soteria) is used in Eph 1:13 and is clearly speaking to those already saved.

The meaning of the two words "Sozo" and "Soteria" are translated the same except:
NT:4982
sozo (sode'-zo); from a primary sos (contraction for obsolete saoz, "safe"); to save, i.e. deliver or protect (literally or figuratively):
KJV - heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)
NT:4991
soteria (so-tay-ree'-ah); feminine of a derivative of NT:4990 as (properly, abstract) noun; rescue or safety (physically or morally):
KJV - deliver, health, salvation, save, saving.
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)
The word "Sozo" by Strongs is translated:
KJV - heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.
The word “Soteria” by Strongs is translated :
KJV - deliver, health, salvation, save, saving
The difference is obvious isn’t it?
When one is “Sozoed” they are saved. Therefore they are preserved, are made whole, and do well.
When they are “Soteriaed” the are already saved, they have been delivered, health is available.
The “benefits” are there. Jesus made them available.
Do all Christians experience the benefits of salvation?
Unfortunately they do not. The reasons they do not are many.
That is why we are told to work out our own salvation (Soteria).
The scripture is not speaking of being saved. The ones the scripture is written to are already saved (Sozoed”
Phil 2:12-13
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
KJV
The Scripture is encouraging those who are saved (Sozoed) to make their salvation (Soteria) a reality by learning and accepting by faith what Jesus made available to them.
We will finish the faulty questions.
