  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The law (Ten Commandments only) must be abolished!

So when I was saved I was living in an adulterous relationship so after I am saved I should continue in the same relationship. When I was saved I was stealing after I am save I should continue to steal.Chapter and verse please.
who said this? This is your twist of what what was actually said? When we have the Love of God shed abroad in our hearts by the HS how can we say we love a neighbor and steal from them? How can we love a neighbor and live with a mans wife? How can we walk down the street and see a hurting person and not tell them about Christ or Pray with them of for them if indeed we have the love of Christ inside of us. It is not a matter of do not do but do do do.. Love is an action word. Not a feeling. We act on the Love of God in our hearts. We care for others way before we care about ourselves. Love Gives. For God so loved the world that HE GAVE is only begotton son. We have that same love in us by Him and through Him..

And we keep the Ten Commandments when we do those things in love.

I don't feel I'm obligated to keep the law to retain salvation, but that I am obligated out of gratitude to behave in a way that God desires.
That is impossible for other to admit. They will die first it appears.

I am at a lost as to how the point is being avoided continually. It is about the Ten Commandments only. none other, period!

I am at a loss as to understand your utter fixation on ten commandments. Are these the only commandments by God that matter to you?

Are you telling us that because bestiality is not forbidden in the ten commandments, you are free to engage in the practice?

As a Christian I am not obligated to the OC.

As a Christian I am obligated to Jesus Christ and His commandments.

His commandment is to love. Loving does not commit evil acts (sin) toward God or man. By loving the demands of the moral commandments are met. Jesus does not even remotely imply obligation to keep the sabbath. The 4th commandment is neuter in this regard concerning the Christian. The sabbath was given only to the COI. The sabbath is not included in the requirements of the NC anywhere. At best the sabbath is optional.

Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

The flesh serves the law of sin...

Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

But if we believe on Christ...

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

And put on the whole armour of God...

1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Christ will be our helper in abstaining from fleshly lusts, which war against the spirit...

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

So that we might not be condemned...

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

As we present ourselves a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable...

1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

And abstain from all appearance of evil...

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

By keeping the commandments of Christ...

Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Who admonished us to do the will of His Father in Heaven.

Unfortunately I can read.

7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Rom 7

The 10 Cs bring death for violation. God committed all Israelites to sin and death so He could have mercy on all - Rom 11:32.

If the 10 Cs were benign they would not bring death.

Romans 7 says they bring death.

And they bring life if they are followed, specially the one about not murdering. ^_^. Now, we Christians are supposed to go beyond the Law and not trying to establish the foundation of our salvation in a set of rules, but that love, as you said, includes things as not stealing and not murdering, and it's a point I want to stress for the benefit of the forum visitors.

Yes the flesh serves the law of sin and the Spirit does not observe the sabbath in the flesh as demanded.

Yes and I stand against those who would steal my soul and salvation in exchange for following the law (OC) and not Jesus Christ my Saviour Who provided the wonderful gift of salvation not afforded in the law.

And that is absolutley correct no one nor the law can condemn me for not following the law. Neither have any authority to do so.

Peter did not call us to the law.

The appearance of evil is sin (wicked behaviour) and not the keeping of the law. Not keeping the sabbath does no wickedness.

Yes use John 14:15 and ignore John 15:10. John 14:15 does not say to keep the law or the 10 Cs.

The will of God is found in I John 3:23.
