  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is it a pro-homosexuality song?

Well, the song has an overt message about social diversity, which is to love yourself regardless of minute differences between you and other people, regardless of the color of your skin, the nationality of who you are, or your sexual orientation. :) The only part that stands out and not be Christian would be this part: "He made you perfect, babe." If "He" refers to God, then that would be inaccurate, since all humans, according to Christian theology, are imperfect. Only God is perfect. ;) I can see how the song would be appealing to someone who is of a racial or sexual minority and who is being constantly discriminated by the society around them for their immutable traits.

I am 64 years old and cannot remember a time in which I loved myself. Nor can I remember a time in which I was loved. I do not like the song very much. So since I have no experience with loving who I am or happy being "being born this way" it should give me a positive outlook you would think. But it doesnt.

Yes, I always assumed she was referring to a Christian God, especially if she was raised a catholic like you say. Though I wouldn't say it was a Christian God, think she was just using God to say we were born this way and are loved the way we are. Whether you agree with homosexuality or not.

Make up your own mind ....

"No matter gay, straight or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to survive

No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to be brave

I'm beautiful in my way
Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way"

... probably NOT a Christian song then!!

It is common for homosexuals to say they're born this way or wired this way.

Well, if you know about Lady Gaga then you know that some
people ARE wired differently. She is not physically like most
men or women, but a cross of both. By birth. By no fault of
her own. So she is referring to herself and her own trials of
acceptance among the general population.

I DON'T know about Lady Gaga and I DON'T know that she is not physically like most men or women but a cross of both by birth by no fault of her own.

Got proof?

She is quoted as saying she has male parts. A couple of pictures do confirm this. Maybe 1% percent of the population does.
Search "hermaphrodite lady gaga " for clues.

But "gay" isn't God's plan for anyone. God's purpose is to live in His presence; a life of fulfillment that can only result from living according to His principles.

"SIN" is not God's plan.
Yet here we are, in the thick of it.

Snopes says Lady Gaga is not a hermaphrodite.
