• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think you are on to something. In my experience (your may differ), liberals are much quicker to take offense than conservatives are.

Just for confirmation, and with no specifics please, I wonder if any of the staff on this forum can confirm or refute this. Just curious....

I get warnings and infractions from the more liberal police on this site...

Liberals looks for things to get offended about...they are the most closed minded folks around.

They scream freedom of speech...unless u don't agree with them, then they just want your posts deleted and/or banned.

Sorry had a moment there

Amazing how off track this thread has become. It all started with a poor attempt at humor incorrectly attributed to a comedian. Now it's become the typical liberal bash-a-thon like most of the threads on CF. I think maybe the amount of bashing that conservatives do is perfectly balanced by the smashing retorts of the libs. Tit for tat.

If a Democrat doesn't like abortion, she will not have one
If a Republican doesn't like abortion, he will make legislation to invade a woman's vagina with an intrusive ultrasound, in an attempt to force her out of having an abortion.

If a Democrat doesn't agree with gay marriage, he recognizes that people have a right to love whom they want, and leaves them alone.
If a Republican doesn't agree with gay marriage, she will eat Chik-Fil-A and ban it, because she is secretly jealous that two gay men have way better fashion sense then she ever did.

If a Democrat is President during an economic hardship, he fixes it, even if it takes a little time.
If a Republican is President during an economic hardship, he'll offer to give the rich more money, while take away the safety net from the working and poor.

If a Democrat wants to be bi-partisan, he reaches across the aisle to hear some suggestions.
If a Republican wants to be bi-partisan...Oh wait, they never do.

If a Democrat wants to reach out to Hispanics, he will speak about issues that impact their community.
If a Republican wants to reach out to Hispanics, he will paint his face brown and lament that he would be so much better off is his dad was Mexican.

Democrats will have a chuckle at this, and move on.
Republicans will ask to see the long form certificate of this post. We don't want none of them foreign born chain emails.

So it's false, but as it fits your political agenda, you don't care. You're giving republicans a bad na.... I couldn't type that without laughing.

Well it's good to see a liberal laugh even if it is misplaced.

NO it is NOT false. I NEVER SAID IT WAS FALSE. You did.

Does it fit my poltical agenda? Beautifully thank you. ^_^

If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he's "offended".
More evidence of the mean-spirited nature of conservative "humor". Note the context of "a good laugh". It's not to laugh with but to laugh at.

Non sequitur. :p

Hardly a non-sequitur. Truth and the Republican way are entwined.

Oh well, if an email stated it, it must be true.

Oh well, if an e-mail stated facts that that liberals can't deal with...they must not be true (to a liberal mind). ;)

They say probably false when there is no evidence that it is true and it is inconsistent with known facts; when they have evidence, they report it.

Snopes is not the only place to check facts. Do you see no reason to verify it elsewhere since you do care about the truth?

If it is "probably false" to a liberal then it would also be "probably true" to a conservative. Or, maybe we need the government, or another committe to tell us what to believe. After all we need to protect all the thinkers of the world. Wasn't it you that said Pelosi's comment about needing to pass the bill before reading the bill made sense to "thinkers?"

And, you miss the point completely. It isn't that Foxworthy did or didn't write it. It is what is written. Deal with it. :)

On the other hand, idiotic jokes praising yourself and dissing the other side don't really need verification (just whether the source is, in fact, Foxworthy).

I agree. A joke is a joke is a joke. The funnier ones are true, as is the case here. ^_^

And I'm sure your Mom told you you are the prettiest girl in the whole world. I wonder what other non-sense you choose to believe?

Please learn the difference between facts and opinions. The OP presented opinions.

Jeff Foxworthy didn't create that list....that's a fact.

And, you miss the point completely. It isn't that Foxworthy did or didn't write it. It is what is written. Deal with it. :)
Thus you disprove your claim that "Truth and the Republican way are entwined."

No DaisyDay, I didn't say he was "not political." I said (from information found in an article), "As it is fitting with other reports, even though he normally isn't political."

Doesn't matter, Foxworthy still didn't write it. He didn't write the Here's your sign bit, either, for what it's worth.

I would prefer proper credit be given to the person that made the list.

Since they aren't funny, I side with them not being Foxworthy.

I too would prefer proper credit be given and I think it was. Why is it so easy for you to accept that it wasn't?

Regardless the list was funny and true, as you are presently demonstrating.

I doubt that Jeff Foxworthy ever wrote this. Is there any evidence that he did?

Jeff Foxworthy's take on the differences in the two parties. Funny and true.

If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Republican doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Democrats demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he's "offended".

I forwarded it.

Halossellar's take on the differences in the two parties. Funnier and truer.

If a Democrat reads about a mass shooting, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a Republican reads about a mass shooting, he buys more guns.

True. Then we can try to stop the next mass shooter instead of waiting for the Lone Ranger to save us.

If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a Republican is a vegetarian, he wants all vegetables deported.

LOL. Did you mean all vegetable workers? Now that's funny.

If a Democrat is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Republican is homosexual, he hides in the closet and bashes gays anyway.

Okay that was funny. I think there are closet/bashers on both sides.

If a Democrat is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Republican yells "They took our jobs!"

No. A Republican yells "GET A JOB and get off welfare." A Republican yells for more jobs to be created. A Republican yells for those that lost their jobs to take a lesser job until a better one comes up. A Republican yells to VOTE FOR ROMNEY so more jobs will be created. :)

If a Democrat doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Republicans demand that those they don't like be shut down. (Oh come on, this one was absurdly inverted in the original list)

No, you just inverted them. Tsk, tsk.

If a Democrat is a believer, he goes to church.
A Republican believer wants any mention of anyone else's God and religion silenced.

Really? That isn't funny and is a BIG LIE.

If a Democrat decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A Republican says "I got mine, you get yours!"

I don't agree. In my case when my husband retired I was without health insurance so I went to work to pay for it. It's the American way. Several years before that, before his retirement, he lost his job and we were then both without insurance except through Cobra. If you are unfamiliar with it Cobra is very expensive for a family of unemployed. He has had two strokes and a "widow-maker" heart attack. So I went to work at a job I detested but we paid for our insurance.

Again, it's the American way. So yes I did get mine and my taxes helped pay for those that can't get theirs. It is those that can and won't that need to grow up and realize no one OWES THEM ANYTHING.

If a Democrat reads this, he'll chuckle and then delete it because he doesn't need validation from others to know what to believe.
A Republican will post it on Christian Forums and attribute it to Ahmadinejad.

Democrats can't chuckle. It goes against their inner-self. :p
