I would call them heretics. But at the same time, heretics know what the Church teaches and then disagree with it. These people don't even know what the Church teaches and assume to disagree based on some stupid view of what they think of the Middle Ages.

The Church is not God, true. But she is the Bride of Christ, to whom Christ gave authority to teach in his name. Disobedience to the Bride is disobedience to the Groom, just as when my children disobey my wife they're disobeying me.

I get that I'm not smarter than Adam and all, but the only reason he had to not eat the fruit was because God said so. God LOVES it when we're obedient to what he says for no other reason than we know he said it.

And I imagine that you're old enough by now to know that "because I said so" was often the very best reason of all to listen to your parents when you were little.

And Sacred Scripture is very clear that it's given to most of us to be taught in the faith, and to obey those in authority. So I submit to the teachings of the Church because Jesus said to.
