I hope the rules of engagement on the new forum is against any postings against the Sabbath. I hope that this will be a safe haven for Sabbath keepers.
IT is a whole different life style and relationship with their Creator and Redeemer for those who keep it.
Yes it is. And according to those that keep it, it is Scriptural to them.
I am not here to debate this topic, but you bring up a good point and perhaps this passage by Paul should be posted along with it. Thoughts? :groupray:

Young) Colossians 2:16 Let no one then, judge you in eating or in drinking or in respect of a feast or of a new moon or of sabbaths,

I say Yes, because the General Theolgy Forum is overun with Sabbth threads there are at least 9 or 10 of them going right now (on the first page alone) and it already ressembles the coveted Sabbath day forum.

Either create a Sabbath day Forum or simply change the name of General Theolgy to the Sabbath day Forum because that is what is (now).

I disagree that this should be a priority for this forum. We have literally dozens of unused subforums, several already in GT, and all of CF is already encumbered with ridiculous posting restrictions across various topics and between subforums. I have watched several much more interesting forum suggestions be ignored by staff, so I would be very disappointed if staff chose to create yet another very niche, restricted subforum.

I would not be interested in a GT version of a Sabbath forum.. Congregation style where all posters respect the Sabbath could post only please.
One can respect Saturday Sabbath-keepers on CF and yet still disagree with their views of it, and thus the need for a seperate sub-board on GT to debate it.

It is sad when people think it is debatable.

My vote is congregation, not GT subforum on an either/or vote.. Not saying that I would be against having both though.

Sounds like a good forum idea to me!

But what do you mean by "Sabbath" - I think we should make it for both the Sunday and Saturday people to discuss the topic - as well as anyone who does not think Sabbath is a good idea at all to make their case from the Bible.

in Christ,

Bob

Then you will get GT nah sayers .. nah nah nah nahing any case you bring forth from scripture.. not a good idea. .. If you want to get your stomach full of that type of conversation, then post on the Sabbath threads in GT until you see no more value in it. I would rather the advancement of the blessings and benefits of knowledge the depth, width, breath, root, branch and fruit of obedience in Sabbat keeping.

Positive for Shabbat... rebuttals are just not positive for Sunday but rather negative towards Shabbat.. nah nah nah comments like they have fingers in their ears... not very scholarly work.
Or too much ear wax :p

Acts 7:51 `Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and in ears! ye do always the Holy Spirit resist; as your fathers--also ye;
57 And they having cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears and did rush with one accord upon him

Revelation 14:11 and the smoke of their torment doth go up to ages of ages; and they have no rest day and night,

So I typically just stick with the Bible argument UNTIL the din of "only SDAs notice that detail" gets so loud that these other sources are helpful in debunking that retreat.

Then what you are looking for is another froum that excludes debate. We are interested in a forum that will clean up GT a great deal and offer a place for both pro and con discussion like other forums within GT subforums. This would also bring together other forums where the sabbath is geting discussed to one place. I think this should also happen for the topic of the law. I do not think this would exclude discussion within a fellowship forum on either subject.

Sorry to inform you that it works the other way as well. It is exactly what you are doing about Sunday.

So pull your fingers out of your ears.

That would be no benefit to CF in any way. You already have your safe heaven to discuss the sabbath in the congregational subforums. There are at least 3 of them.
