Matt 24 predicts that the Gospel will go into all the World and THEN will the end come.



No mention at all of "two witnesses" in Matt 24.

The text says clearly "This gospel of the kingdom will go into all the world and then the end will come".

Christ is referring to the two witnesses preaching the gospel to the entire world. That is their job. Notice that Christ says it will be preached in the entire world for a "WITNESS" unto all nations. The word for 'witness' is very similar to the word for 'witnesses' in Rev. 11.

Do you mean night in Jerusalem? Because obviously whenever Christ returns, at some point on the earth it will be night.

I think he'll return during the day in Jerusalem, since wars don't usually happen at night (see Rev. 19).

On a more serious note, when Christ returns I think the earth falls off its axis. This would describe the 'great earthquake' of Revelation - it would also describe the stars falling from heaven (as if you were on the night side of the earth, and the earth were falling off its axis, it would appear as though the stars were falling to the ground).

It's talking about the preaching of the two witnesses there, which hasn't happened yet.

And the chapter goes on to describe that "end" as the coming of the Son of Man to earth when all the tribes of the earth shall mourn and the Angels are sent out to gather His elect from the four corners of the earth.

While it is true that the word "witness" is used many times in the New Testament -- only once in the New Testament is the subject "the Two Witnesses" of Rev 11. In that part of the Bible we are again looking at the 1260 years of the dark ages - when the Bible was being withheld from the people.

The Two witnesses of Rev 11 - are the OT and the NT.

They are the two lamp stands, the two olive trees being mentioned.

Nobody knows when He will comes. I strongly suggest you never predict the return and be sure of that will be fulfilled and done. Keep in mind of this:
"But the exact day and hour? No one knows that, not even heaven's angels, not even the Son. Only the Father knows" (Matthew 24:36. MSG).

A lot of times we are wrong in literal interpretation, as for the one world government, it may not be as far off as some think and it may not be as literal as some think. Could take one catostrophic event to bring the world in line with this, it could be only months. I don't know when Christ will retrun but it is interesting to speculate.

Don't be like the Jews at the time of Christ. They looked for an interpretation that they came up with out of the OT for who the Messiah was. And when Christ came, they rejected Him because it didn't fit with their interpretation.

Don't hold onto your interpretation so strongly that when (if) the end comes, you reject it; or rather if the false christ comes you accept him as the Christ.

We all must understand that we are corrupt, including our thinking. Rest not on your understanding, but on His, alone.

I like this as I read how people interpret and come up with this and that. Let's just say we don't really know and just make sure we are ready?

yes, the world is rife with man made doctrine aka God's truth. I do belong to a church that closely resembles what I believe but the one on one thing with God when it comes to what I adhere to is most important to me.

How do you distinguish between "man made doctrine" and whatever it is that you determined what "closely resembles what I believe" and is "most important to me"? That sounds like the same thing, really, because you are a human being and are determining what it is to you.

I guess basically it is. I take the basic tenants of Christianity, the belief of Christ as saviour to the world, get in the bible for myself and search the things that I need to know as an individual who is also part of the body. I feel I don't need an organization or "authority" figures to clarify the Word of God according to them when that word says plainly I can get it for myself. As I answer only for myself, I feel much better about that going about it the way I do. Not saying I do not enjoy or learn truth from others because I certainly do.

Daniel 7, and Rev 11, and Revelation 12, and Revelation 13 all predicted the 1260 years of dark ages persecution to happen before the end. that has passed.

Matt 24 predicts that the Gospel will go into all the World and THEN will the end come. That is either past or right on top of passing - as the gospel ministries have covered the globe umpteen times over. I was in India and noticed that they Christian Gospel programming in both English and Hindi pretty much non-stop on some channels. So even though Christianity is no more than 1% or 2% of the population - the coverage is massive. And now with internet - the former iron-curtain countries have their own people exposed to Christian sermons, Bible studies videos etc.

In Revelation 12 - you have the 1260 years of the Dark Ages.

In Revelation 13 you have a 7 headed (symbolic) beast that is a composite of all the world empires listed (as beasts with a total of 7 heads) in Daniel 7.

That has already happened.

In Rev 13 you have another beast rising up at the end of the Dark Ages - and rising to world super power status. That has happened.

In Rev 13 that super power - starts off like a lamb. (The good guys) - but it ends up revoking every principle of its constitution and speaking instead like a dragon - before it is all over. It sets up the mark of the beast.

It has yet to do such a thing - but ...

It is getting closer to creating a foundation for it. So yes - wayyy closer than 30 years away.

Reading Matt 24 and looking for patterns. Shouldn't we be seeing some odd things as signs in the heavens if it really is this close?

Absolutely no idea, but if I had to guess I'd say at the very end of my lifetime. 2070 or so.

The marriage supper of the lamb event....which is certainly similar to the idea of the rapture might occur pretty soon but the full fledged kingdom of Shalom/peace over all the earth might take some time.

The analogy might be that the fall Jewish festivals occur in the seventh month but five more months of rainy winter season occur before the spring?!?!
