True. If it is a counterfeit, then there has to be a real, but rather this is a replacement of the real and not a counterfeit.

The devil has started many religions in this world and they all say "do this" and you'll be ok, they are all based on a work of your own at some level.

If these are counterfeits, then where is the real work-based religion they are copying? There isn't one. Hense, these are not counterfeits.

If you are following the leading of the Holy Spirit you will not be led to be a part of anything that is not of God. I was in a church meeting once when the preacher said to line up around the church and he would come and touch you - as he went around touching people, everyone fell - I had my eyes closed - when I opened them I was the only one standing - I ask God if I was in the wrong and something was wrong that I didn't get touched, about that time one of the helpers came to me and said 'at least fall down' - I turned and walked out - I did not feel condemnation either. I do not feel that was a move of God.

I was at the Toronto Blessings a few years ago when a lot of people are saying these things happened - but I never saw one of these things - all I saw was anointing, blessings, miracles and a sense of the presence of God - it was a true Blessing.

This happened in my cousin's church a while back, he came to me for advice. I had none to give.

I can't tell him that it doesn't happen, because it happened to him.

I agree that it's good that it's not happening in your church.

It might not be satan vs God, it might be the flesh that is manifesting.

One day the Lord is returning and will put all things right. One day God will 'wipe every tear form our eyes', until then there may be cause to cry.

As the old church used to say 'Maranatha'. Then we will see power.

the flesh does sometimes get in the way. But not everything is Satan and or the flesh. The key thing to remember is if the person can control it it is God after all the spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet. In every true move of God there will be also be flesh and satan involved.

When God shows up the demonic does manifest we see it numerous times in the Bible.

Plus people gets hung up in the emotion around them and they sometimes let that emotion take over them that's when the flesh gets involved.

except it wasn't a deception just because someone said so and wrote a book. I was there. it was genuine...so sad people like to believe the negative and ugly instead of the good and God in people.

No, it is not a book but a open letter by one of the local pastors that was involved through the whole thing. He gives a very balanced and fair presentation of the fruit he saw and experienced. It will not tire your finger and/or lips to read it.

Sorry for insulting you. You did say write a book and this was not a book. How much time did you spend in pastor's meetings at this church or in attendance as this pastor did?

quite a bit in meetings thank you. yes, there were acts of flesh...no one said different. but it wasn't a deception. huge difference. and many of the things were dealt with.

To be counterfeit, it doesn't have to be the extremes presented in the OP. I attended a bible college and witnessed many counterfeit gifts. There was false interpretation of tongues. There was false tongues. There was divination trying to be passed off as prophecy. I found out after I started attending that the college was WoF based and was in major error. I didn't stay past the 1st year.

I was there also for 5 days - attended every meeting, even a few of the pastoral meetings as my friend I was with was a pastor. I saw none of this. I saw true worship and the presence of God was such a Blessing that I can still feel it today when I think back on those services. Such a shame that such a beautiful time with the Lord is turned into such falsehoods - maybe something happened to that pastor that wrote the letter, but I did not see even a glimpse of it or I would have walked out.
