Foster existing paranoia?
Umm ... no ... don't think that's quite it, either.

Left out guns. Lots of guns. Second amendment, baby!

Why should I need to know what Glenn Beck wants?
I function quite well without a Mormon telling me what he wants for me.

I truly miss Glenn Beck on my local talk radio. His lunacy is hilarious. My mum taught me not to laugh at people, but I can't help it.

Hmm ... perhaps the irony of your hyperbole about Beck's hyperbole eluded you ...

It is troubling when people lose their grasp of telling the difference between political satire and reality. A bit scary when Beck and his ilk are seen as more than entertainers.
Oh I don't know; frankly I think it's far scarier that people only view Beck (and his "ilk") as nothing more than entertainers.

Yes, it is legal to call the president a dictator, but it does make many of us wonder about the mental capabilities of some of these people.
What, only stupid people can like entertainment?

Well, we could be a bit meaner and say that he often says things that are frankly absurd and insane and not at all true :p

I believe he's saying something along similar lines as what I said earlier, that calling President Obama a dictator (especially if you treat Bush as the champion of liberty and freedom) doesn't make you look or sound like the most intelligent or informed person.

Why pull any punches? I'm certain it's what you believe, isn't it?

<< hoping for that day when people will quit comparing Obama to Bush and allow Obama to stand (or fall) on his own merits (or lack thereof) - *that* is change I could believe in >>

Frankly, I fail to see how anyone can deny Obama's dictatorial leanings - seeking to circumvent congress at every turn, using his regulatory agencies to strong arm and intimidate people and businesses, seeking at every possible turn to take more and more of people's wealth for his own employ.

One would have to be truly blind to fail to recognize Obama for what he truly is.

Of course it is - which is why I said it.

<< hoping for that day when people will quit comparing Obama to Bush and allow Obama to stand (or fall) on his own merits (or lack thereof) - *that* is change I could believe in >>

And yet your side constantly compares Obama to everybody BUT Obama in an effort to paint him as a radical liberal socialist commie Muslim that eats babies and hates America.

I'd love to see Obama stand (or fall) on his own merits too, but you have to actually pitch in

Besides, putting Obama and Bush side-by-side for comparison's sake isn't wrong, nor does it excuse Obama's crimes. It's merely the practice of compare and contrast. I do the same with many politicians. JFK, being one of my favorite politicians, constantly gets put up side-by-side with others when I want to make a point about their differences.

In this case, I put Bush and Obama side-by-side to point out that conservatives are eerily silent when it comes to Bush, and will even defend him, yet criticize Obama for doing the exact same things Bush did.

Frankly, I fail to see how anyone can deny Obama's dictatorial leanings

He does have fascist leanings. So did both Bushes, Reagan, John Adams, Andrew Jackson, Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, LBJ, Lincoln, etc. He's a person in power of the most powerful country in the world. It gets to a person's head.

- seeking to circumvent congress at every turn, using his regulatory agencies to strong arm and intimidate people and businesses, seeking at every possible turn to take more and more of people's wealth for his own employ.

Again, all of that has been done by most of our Presidents. It's not exactly this majorly spooky thing that foretells the doom of America. John Adams was probably the first President we had that was seriously inclined toward tyranny, as was Madison. It's been going on almost since we were founded, and it's going to continue - that's just the nature of power and authority.

YOU can stop it, as can all of us...but first, we ALL have to be willing to call it like it is, even if that means calling out a great majority of our own side. People just aren't willing to do that today.

One would have to be truly blind to fail to recognize Obama for what he truly is.

A normal human being in a position of great power. Nothing extraordinary, nothing frightening, just terribly normal.

I am glad to I can garner enough interest to get an image link. I thank you for putting that much thought into your response. That is much appreciated. :)
I am not educated enough to know what hyperbole and irony mean. Would you please explain these concepts to me in detail?

Please define the word dictator.
Please show mean convincing reasons that Obama is a dictator.

I can't help you. This looks like an entertainer or like someone with emotional problems:

Glenn Beck Gone Wild! - YouTube

These look like reporters or journalists:
Walter Cronkite Highlights -- The JFK Assination and the Moon Landing. - YouTube

Dan Rather - George Bush Showdown - YouTube

I am sorry, but I see a stark difference between the two.

I pull punches to avoid getting banned or censored on these forums. I have found that even when I hold back a great deal, it is not always enough. Unlike other forums on the internet, CF is far from being just, nor evenhanded. I can't even give harsh personal testimony without getting reported and entire posts deleted. I am a paid supporter of this site, and I do not want to get banned.

Putting is with kid's gloves, I see Glenn Beck as a competent entertainer and/or someone with some unspecified issues. Frequently, he comes across as someone who is wound too tight. I don't know. I give him the benefit of the doubt, and figure that he is just saying all the stuff that his listeners want to hear. I do not see his information as being news. Commentary, yes. News or coherent journalism, no.

It really doesn't matter. The little television and radio I partake in is none of the news networks (FNN, Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc.). Most of these 'news' channels quickly get on my nerves. I am not the right demographic.

Showing animated songs from Glenn Beck or anyone else are not going to do anything for me. Evidence for Obama being a dictator would help your cause and credibility.

Usually, Glenn Beck provides news straight up ... you apparently just haven't believed him when he presented that information to you.

One thing Glenn Beck has always stressed is that one needs to learn for oneself the truth of a matter. That sometimes requires effort. It's not a passive activity. There are plenty of mis-information and dis-information sources which have vested interest in slanting information. It's unfortunate ... but that is the case. It's up to you to discern truth from falsehood. It's up to each person to invest the time it takes to learn discernment.

PBS? ;)

Do you want to know the truth? You'd have to be willing to question some of your core assumptions regarding both Barack Hussein Obama and the Democrat party.

If someone presented that information to you ... would it profoundly affect your life? Would you be able to handle it?

MIB aside, yes. Show me a comprehensive description of what is a dictator, and then give me the evidence that he is a dictator. I can handle it.

I am anxious to find out that the current president is, in fact, a dictator as you and Glenn Beck say. Credibility is in your court.

I never said he was a dictator. I've consistently said he was a Marxist. :wave:His parents were Marxist, he grew up around Marxists and he has filled important positions in his administration with Marxists.

In agreement so far?
