  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, He does destroy the world.

At the end of the Millennial Reign, God will abrogate the strong and weak nuclear forces, sending this entire universe into instant disintegration.

He will then reassemble everything into a New Heavens and a New Earth for all eternity.

Wow, strong and weak forces in the Bible, reference?

It's next to geocentrism and gravity.

But to give you something to trample:

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

geocentrism is quite visible in the Bible.

I see nothing about strong and weak forces looks like you've cooked up some scheme of how God's going to do something and decided that the Bible speaks to that.

No, it isn't.

Did I now?

Someone needs a Defender's Study Bible, doesn't he?

That way, he won't make false accusations.
Footnotes to 2 Peter 3:10 said:
All the elements themselves have been under God curse, so they must be burned up, along with the vast evidences of decay and death now preserved as fossils in the earth's crust. Possibly this will be a global atomic fission reaction, or else simply a vast explosive disintegration involving transformation of the chemical energy of the elements into heat, light and sound energy. What remains after the global fiery disintegration will be other forms of energy so that, although God's principle of conservation still holds, the solid earth will seem to have "fled away".

Hey, Warrior, here's one of my challenges I got out of mothballs -- just for you:
For those of you who believe the Bible teaches geocentrism in Psalm 19, I challenge you to explain this:

Matthew 20:17 ¶ And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,
Matthew 20:18 Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,

Did Jerusalem hover over the earth or something?

Nah, the next commentary I'm thinking of getting is Matthew Henry's Complete. Then I'll probably get some, if not all of NT Wright's commentary on the New Testament.

On Dr. Morris' commentary, I find it hard to believe that it is that good considering the Amazon rating is all 5 star, I mean come on even the copies of the Fundamentals and MHC have ratings of anything from 1 to 5 star and even plain text versions of the Bible (KJV) have the same.

If I say I'm going up to Sydney am I saying that Sydney is above me?
Then why do you think geocentrism is 'quite visible' in the Bible?

On Dr. Morris' commentary, I find it hard to believe that it is that good considering...
The point I made is not dependent on how good the commentary is though, is it?

And what is its continuous act of creation?
progmonk

the same as it has always been, through what scientists call natural processes.

Cupid dave:

Yes, the ever unfolding Reality, (the almighty), continuously unfolds the next frame of what is Truth, (our savior), out of all the possible next stages of Universe could have been.

This is the Father who sires the son, endless, from the beginning, they have been with one another.

John1:1
In the beginning was the Word, (i.e.; Truth: [John 14:6]), and the Word, (Truth, itself), was (synonymous) with God, (i,e.; Reality), and the word, (Truth: [John 14:6]), was (indistinguishable from Reality), God (almigty for all men).

Then why do you think geocentrism is 'quite visible' in the Bible?

A lot of our language is influenced by the KJV, our idioms and such forth, to then take what we now think of as idioms in our speech, (that the sun rises and sets) and apply them to the Bible is backward when we actually look at what the Bible says. Take the miraculous stopping of the sun by Joshua, it says that the sun stopped not that the earth stopped, now that is what it appeared to be like to the Israelites, but if we take it as a historical fact we must understand it as the earth stopping not the sun in heliocentrism.

That happeed in 380 AD:

Rev. 6:12 And I beheld, (in the days of Theodocius, who established the Holy Roman, Catholic, Apostolic Church), when he, (the Lamb of the tribe of Judah, the off-spring of the root of David;[Rev 5:5]), had opened the sixth seal of (scripture), and, lo, there was a great (sociological) earthquaqe (of institutionalized religious change); and the Sun (signs of Astrology) became (as) black as (the) sackcloth of (a nun's) hair, and the moon became as blood (of Christ, to determine the very day of the Christian Passover

Rev. 6:13 And the stars' (twelve constellations of Sun Signs) of heaven fell (from popular grace) unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, (ruined), when she is (destructively) shaken of a mighty wind

Rev. 6:14 And (Astrology) departed (from popular practice) as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every (Pagan religion and secret society) were moved out of their places

Rev. 6:15 And (1) the kings of the earth, (POLITICIAN), and (2) the great men, (STATESMEN), and (3) the rich men, (ECONOMIC BARONS), and (4) the chief captains, (PRIESTHOODS), and (5) the mighty men, (MILITARY LEADERS), and (6) every bondman, (CRAFTSMAN), and (7) every free man, (PEASANT), hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks (of the pagan temples

Rev. 6:16 And said to the mountains (of the previous social institutions) and rocks (of cultural norms), Fall on us, (help!), and hide us from the face (of Papal judgment) of Universal Catholicism), him that sitteth on the throne (Theodocius, who established Christian Rome) and from the (words of) wrath of the lamb, (the Word of the New Testament

Rev. 6:17 For the great day of his wrath, the one thousand year reign predicted), is come; and who, (what other God or religion), shall be able to stand (during these Dark Ages

Note, Catholic Encyclopedia

With the overthrow of the old Roman Empire and the victory of Christianity, astrology lost its importance in the centers of Christian civilization in the West. The last known astrologer of the old world was Johannes Laurentius (sometimes called Lydus) of Philadelphia in Lydia, who lived A.D. 490-565Ad.
