CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I agree; i've reported things in the past that were blatantly against the rules even and nothing was done about it. There's not a good feel here and I'm tired of trying to fit in, and now I don't think I even want to.

Speaking as a mod, no one has said anything violating the rules of the forum. And also, if you find something offensive, report it.
Edited to add: I meant no one has violated the rules in the earlier conversation.
And also staff cant really tell you anything about reports, so what you may think is that nothing is happening is really just us working behind the scenes of the problem

i saw that but some drama between members like that is normal and expected. attacks like in the other threads are disturbing and upsetting for some of us. i don't like to complain usually, but i'm being selfish with this, i needed something more uplifting tonight and found mostly harsh words being thrown at each other.My mistake, I assumed you were talking about the exchange from earlier in this thread.
i'm sorry, i will just log out for a while since it seems i'm one of the only ones having a really hard time with this stuff tonight. i'm too emotional to be around people right now i guess.
