• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I keep repeating myself but I still say that we have a ton of creative folks on CF, assign three awards to a handful of those creative posters to create and the awards will be painless and easy.

I'm getting help by Mydnyte this time around, but I'll think about adding maybe one or two more people. If I decide not to, please don't take it personal because it isn't.

Yeah, every three months is too close if most of the categories are the same. It already feels boring.

The awards are every 4 months, I just started this discussion a bit too early because I thought the poll said January. It said Feb. lol So it's actually every 4 months. I'm sorry it feels boring to you already though.

I still say you should only be allowed to vote for one person in one category. We have so many newbies but just as many beloved "old" posters that you almost need to force people to spread the love in voting situations like this.

While I still say this is a good idea, some of the CFers bucked up a bit when it was just a limit of 5, so to totally knock it down to one, may get some CFers to not vote at all - and that isn't what I want.

I think for 30 categories, 3 per person is a nice small number where people can still vote for who they want.

Im sorry, but I didn't recognise a McSteamiest Catagorie?

We removed it because I kept winning it every year. We didn't feel it was fair to the less-attractive posters.

It just became the assumed, Chuck..77.

I don't see Chuck's name on the list. Unless he doesn't want it up there, maybe we should add it in. I'd hate to see a grown man cry.

But isn't this a people's choice type thing? Since all of us are part of it, shouldn't it be what we want too?

I suggest a poll on how many times people should be allowed to vote for a single person. Maybe ranging the numbers from 1-5.

Just sayin.

Edited to add: I understand that this is organized by you now, but rather that just picking your own preference, let the majority choose, and then use their choice in your organizing.

2 votes per person!

I tried to do 1 vote per person last time around and let me tell you that it is HARD! It's quite time consuming if you want people to actually fit the categories that you vote them for, and I fear that 1 vote per person may cause some problems: like people not voting in all categories because they couldn't think of anyone else they hadn't already used who fit the category, or people just filling in random names just to fill it up. And then the awards won't have as much value.

So I vote for 2 votes per person. With only 30 categories, it's still very possible and easy to vote fairly quickly, have all votes fit their category, and still have a variety. :)

I still think though that no matter what restriction is put on how many times you can vote for someone, people will still vote how they want. If the one vote for the one person goes into the same category that said person won last time - they still win.

I think the only way someone else would win a category is if people voted differently.

I think the only way someone else would win a category is if people voted differently.
Or if a sizable amount appears in the organizer's account.

I don't get the fuss because I don't mind the same people winning the same thing every time if they deserve it. I wouldn't want to be awarded something I don't deserve when a worthy candidate exists. I also wouldn't want someone else being given the best hair award when everyone knows I have the best hair of anyone here.

What might be annoying some is people who don't post often anymore still getting awards they got when they were still actively posting. I don't see how restricting votes is going to change that.

I've never voted but I'll make an effort this time around.

Now for some pre election campaigning for some people

Biggest flirt - Nom
Best Username- Not Pinksweetart
Best hair - r035198x (no need for voting here)
Wittiest - Obzocky
Best Story Teller - Squeekers (no need for voting here)
Funniest - Thunder Peel
Most Sarcastic - chuck77(7?)
Best apologist - Sieben (I don't think you have her on your list)
Best smile -cmjames
Fashionable Ethno-g
Brainiest - LoveThroughIntellect
Best Advice Giver - Gwendolyn

I further suggest that we just hand over the prizes for those marked as "(no need for voting here)" to ease the work on the organizers.

More vote influencing to come later ...
