• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You missed my point.
This is from the Christian Forums main site where you pick a Forum to go to.
If we as MJ's go to one of those Forums could we post? I almost feel like because I am a Messianic Believer that they would not consider me Christian.

You will need to learn the rules to know what is OK, where.

:scratch:I am just curious as to what makes someone a Christian and able to post in those forums listed and from posting say, in this forum. Will Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses get to post because they believe they are Christian as well.
But the more I think about it, they are probably talking about Muslims, Buddhists and so on that might join looking for answers. I probably just took it personal because someone else posted that they felt 'left out' per say from other forums because we are MJ's.

About the topic, we might be missing something. I don't know.. :)

No problem Roni999, it took me a while to get over 50 posts, I don't understand why they limit new people.

Roni,

When a messianic believer who is generally not a dispensationalists gets into theological conversations with Christians who are general dispensationalists, it doesn't take long before you can't see eye to eye on theology. What you might want to do is start a discussion on dispensationalism --- it really is where the theological roads part between messianics and Christians even though many in both worlds don't know it.

But while our roads diverge significantly on theology, on matters of faith and salvation by faith we are as united with Christians as Christians are among themselves. I think, however, that Christians in general think that we differ on matters of faith and salvation by faith due to their belief in dispensationalism. But in reality, we don't differ with them any more than they differ among themselves.

And this, my friend, is where our unity is with our Christian brothers and sisters. Will they see it that way? I don't know.

To answer your question, "aren't we all "Christians?", that depends on how you define the term and how others define the term.

~Love ya sis

Hey there Angelia, So great to see you posting, looks like you're enjoying this forum as much as me. :) Glad I find it.

If I remember correctly and I might not remember correctly, and that is dispensationalists divide the Bible into dispensations. Like Adam and Eve, then there is Noah and then comes Moses. Maybe Abraham falls in there I am not sure and so on all the way down to the New Testament being a separate dispensation again. Which now that I see all of that can see it as confusing. The Word is ONE and not divided.

I am not starting a thread on dispensations because I am not thoroughly versed in it and I would probably stick my foot in my mouth. YUK!!

I will stay here in MJ's world and be a happy little Follower of Yeshua. If they want to talk to me about it, they can come here. :) LOLOL *stands dressed in her chicken suit*

Now the Christian part of my topic is like you said, depends on the persons definition. And that is where my topic really started, do they think that we as Messianic Believers are Christians or not?

Messianic believers have come from many Christian denominations which has left a bad taste in their mouth for the abuse of Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah. While we are all "Christians", we have gone back to the roots of the faith and for us gentiles have become part of the Commonwealth of Israel in heart and spirit. It reflects in many aspects of our walk and talk, so much so, that the "roman and greek style"' Christians are amazed and confused. To tone down the confusion, we reveal the differences by not using their terms.

The reason I use the name "Yahshua," is because the name Jesus never existed before the 14th century AD.

Okay everyone,
Only Christians can respond here.
Theology (Christian Only)

Aren't we ALL Christians?

Different parts of the forum have different posting requirements. The will usually tell you up front. Some debate forums have very specific requirements. Some are supportive of ministers, 40 yr olds, 59+, abuse victims. etc.

Not everyone here (CF) is a Christian. Not everyone follows the Nicene Creed.

It seems pretty straight forward. CF defines someone as Christian if they believe in the Nicene Creed. If you don't, you can't post. If you do, you are a Christian and you can post there. A Messianic Icon doesn't mean you are not Christian.

From the rules for the forum:

Do not post in the forums reserved for Christians only, unless you are truly a Nicene Creed, Trinitarian Christian.
Non-Trin Messianics will have an issue if they post in those forums, but a Trinitarian
Messianic should be fine.

I'm a Messianic Jew. If I wished to post in the Christian section of this forum, I'd have a myriad of places to go. So why do I have to be a "Christian" here? And why would someone with a MJ icon try to bully or guilt us into labeling ourselves Christians if we are not comfortable with the title?

I hope that is not the case.

No, everyone here isn't Christian.

But if I understand correctly most of the Messianics are allowed to post in those section too.
