• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Christians always say that watching porn to touch is wrong because of lust etc etc, but what happens if it would be used to prevent wet dreams? as you may know, if a young man doesn't [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] in a while, the body will produce nocturnal emissions, which quite honestly are pretty uncomfortable. so my question is, what's the issue with masturbating to prevent wet dreams? I know some may say lust, but I don't really think of it in those terms. I really don't want to have sex with the actress in the porno, but rather I just want to relieve sexual tension buildup to avoid a wet dream.

i should also mention I don't see this as trying to legitimize sin. I understand it may sound like I just want to sin. But truthfully, I just don't see what options a young guy like myself has in avoiding nocturnal [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] other than masturbation. and yes, I really find wet dreams uncomfortable, annoying, and unhealthy (since waking up in the middle of the night kills my body's sleep pattern and makes me feel like crap the next morning)

thanks

I agree with everything you say. In fact, Iam actually hoping to reduce my masturbation from a daily routine, which is what it is now, to something once a week to prevent wet dreams, which are just annoying and messy. :)
