• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What’s the worst that can happen?

Ken IF ** God did exactly what you are asking , some lazy bone head 2,000 years from now would say " duhh, why don't God in a loud voice tell us what he really wants of us " ?

No! Because if it happened today the entire event will be mechanically recorded thus there will be proof of what God wants and that proof will last forever.
Today all you have is a bunch of writing from men who claim God want's this and God want's that. They offer no proof of their claims; they just say "trust me" and we are supposed to believe them; and a lot of people do.

No! Because when it happened it was the first time in our history that a large enough area was connected by common language and roads to be sure that the facts of the event would never get wiped out.

God waited an awfully long time to do that, and He's not doing it again.

even if God spoke " from the sky , in a loud voice " and if* it was recorded , within a month skeptics would be making up reason after reason why it wasn't even God , and within 10 years 90 % or more atheists would still not believe

I actually agree with that. The religious leaders in the days of Jesus' ministry wanted him gone even though they saw him performing miracles, because he was exposing their bad motives. People either want to listen to God, or they don't.

Okay since you believe in Heaven, do you believe those whose behavior is good but don't believe in God will still go to heaven?

K
I want to answer this question, but first I want you to tell me if you did beleive there was a God, where would Heven be?

Are you talking about the Christians today, when you refer to men who claim God wants this and God wants that? Have you ever read the bible and only focused on what Jesus said in the first four books of the New Testament?

If there were a God and a Heaven, I would assume Heaven (and hell)would be located somewhere in outter space. Exactly where? I would have no idea.
I remember when I was a little kid I used to believe the sun was hell. I don't remember why I thought it, I just did; just a thought.

Did I give you enough of an answer for you to answer my question?

Actually I messed up when I said that. What I ment to say was:

"Today we have a bunch of writings from men claiming Jesus said this and Jesus said that, they offer no proof of their claims, they just say "trust me" and we are supposed to believe them; and a lot of people do."

Thanks for pointing that out for me; and letting me clear that up

Yes, you did :) I beleive that we will all be together in the outter space you mentioned, because there is only one big endless space :)

I guess that even Jesus said that he did not entrust himself to men, because he knew what was in their hearts (motives). To me, that would indicate that you would decide for yourself if you think Jesus really lived, and if you think what he said was true. You could still ask yourself if what he said was true, even if you don't think he lived. I think he lived, because I don't think that the entire history of the bible and all the documentation that is in it sounds like a fable. Also, I have my own inner connection to God that verifies for me the existence of God. If God yelled out one message to the whole world, I don't think it would be any different than the message Jesus brought... and people still don't really listen, not even the ones that claim to listen really do. That is why I think God speaks to us personally, as it pertains to us. I have found that God does not speak about religion to me, but of love.

So are you saying everybody gets to go to outter space and nobody has to go to the sun?

Peace
Ken
If you did go to the sun, it wouldn't hurt anyway being you will be in your spiritual body..

When you have time here is a website you can look through and see the experiences of people who have died, and what they experienced. You will find that you are correct about going into space:

(quote)I guess that even Jesus said that he did not entrust himself to men, because he knew what was in their hearts (motives).

(reply)So why didn’t he write anything down? Why did he set up a system that required “men” (with alternative motives) to record his message?

(quote)To me, that would indicate that you would decide for yourself if you think Jesus really lived, and if you think what he said was true.

(reply)Again; nobody knows what he said, we only have what men claimed he said

(quote)You could still ask yourself if what he said was true, even if you don't think he lived. I think he lived, because I don't think that the entire history of the bible and all the documentation that is in it sounds like a fable.

(reply)It doesn’t have to be all “fable” there could be some truth in it and some lies inserted by some of these men with personal agendas whom Jesus said he did not entrust himself to.

(quote)Also, I have my own inner connection to God that verifies for me the existence of God. If God yelled out one message to the whole world, I don't think it would be any different than the message Jesus brought...

(reply)Again; because Jesus never wrote anything down, nobody really knows what message he actually brought; we only have the message the men Jesus didn’t trust claimed he brought.
Do you not see the flaw in this?

(quote)and people still don't really listen, not even the ones that claim to listen really do. That is why I think God speaks to us personally, as it pertains to us. I have found that God does not speak about religion to me, but of love.

(reply)Are you sure that is God who is speaking to you? It seems to me if God did as you claim; spoke to everyone personally, he would give everyone the same message! But as you know that ain’t true! The messages people claim to get from God vary from person to person.

Again; do you not see the flaw in this? Now if a message came from the sky…..

Ken, even if a message came from the sky, people would still interpret it differently, because we are subjective. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that men have inserted their agendas into the bible... but this is actually aparent when you read it. An example is when John says that he was the disciple Jesus loved the most in the book of John. It is the same way as when you are talking to people in real life, you read between the lines. The way that you personally would get to know God is through your own experiences.

If a VOICE came from the sky, there might be slight differences, but nothing like we have now. How many different Gods and religions are they? How many different denominations and sects are in each of those religions?
Again; do you not see a problem with this?

You are answering questions that nobody is asking; and your ignoring the one question that I am asking you.
I am not talking about some stuff that happened thousands of years ago, I'm talking about TODAY!!

Ken
I'm talking about stuff that is happening TODAY - it's the same gospel, the same covenant, people are still being transformed from afraid and confused into sons & daughters of God with his attributes and signs following.

If you are sincere, get to a meeing where you will meet these people and experience the signs, gifts and ministries of Jesus Christ.

God is addressing people of all countries, misunderstandings people have are being cleared up. If you chosse not to visit where God's presence is, all these people are witnesses against you. I hope rather you come, with a sincere desire to know God.
