• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Would you put your brain in a robot body?

By the age of seven, I had non of the material I was born with.

Some cells are only around for a few months, some neuro tissue can grow to the ripe old age of seven.

The oldest thing in my body is a metal femur.
I seem to be well on my way.

Besides really great program writing all of the improvements in tech go to it just plain getting smaller.
As we approach the ability to manipulate matter on an individual molecular level with magnetic fields, we may soon see the micro-bio inter phase.
That micro-bio inter phase may not be such a long ways off.
I expect to see modem implants, in my life time.

There are no robot bodies available that would keep my brain alive.

Yet.
We've Got Artificial Legs, Arms, Hands, Feet, Kidneys, Hearts (bit large), working on Lungs, Livers, ect....

They're improving Artificial Eyes, Ears and such
Improving electrical / nerve interfaces so that one can control artificial limbs better. A Robot(not really the right term :) ) body would just be a cyborg, and those we already have.

Can it be the bodies from Ghost in the Shell instead? Not too keen on looking like a R2D2
Looking fine!

That depeneds on how much money you are willing to spend, and how much pain you want to go through. I'm sure that eventually there will be a system patch to correct any problems.

I'm sure you'll have some options for arousal and such. That's just a chemical thing, and can be replicated.
