I probably wasn't clear, but I didn't call it "sad" just to badmouth creationists. It's also very telling of the general tone of the debate, which is both sides' fault. Including myself, of course.

You must be thinking about talent. A gift is something we give to others. If we have the gift of healing, then God will use us to heal others. To be used by God means living a holy sanctified life apart from sin. There are also gifts of wisdom, knowledge, understanding. In the church there are gifts of administration. In the Church we are to serve one another. The greatest in the church is the greatest servant. The one who can humble themselves the most. Christ love for us was to sacrifice Himself for us. For the Joy set before Him. In the world people want to be served. They want to boast and be filled with pride.

Heb 12 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Healing, wisdom, knowledge, understanding. Gifts from God? Really? Hmmm. You are talking about science.

Administration? A gift from God? The civil service will be pleased.

And serving and humbling oneself? No one seems to have mentioned that to the creationists here who are notable for their self-satisfaction and claims of superiority and specialness. The very fact that you assume you are the recipient of a gift where others aren't speaks volumes about the hypocrisy of your claim.

Science is out explaining the world so you can benefit from all this technology you take for granted. Oh, and don't bother whining about weapons of mass desctuction, 'cause that don't change all the benefits. Bottom line, science works, creationism is useless.

Blowing man to kingdom come, or poisoning our air and water, and unleashing bio terrors actually will affect the good bits. That should be obvious. God's inerrant word tells us what will come. Science aids and abets it!
