I love that kind of logic.
For centuries now, Christianity has one thing hammered into the collective mind of society: Christianity is "Truth". It is good and right and true... so if something is good and right and true, it must be christian.
It would be nice if you could trust Christianity, but we are told to do the will of the Father in Heaven.
Can we trust the church to tell us what the will of the Father in Heaven is?
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name.
10Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11Give us this day our daily bread.12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For your is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
