  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Creationists, what do the worlds universities know that creationists don't?

I've already shown that the property of intelligence is capable of assembling man.
We don't really need reminding of the possibilities. What would be nice is some evidence that an intelligence did assemble man.

(This could be a very long thread.)
What you are unwittedly asking for is data which smothers any room for faith not realizing that you have faith that the Great Pyramid is intelligently designed.
Let's assume that I'm not a complete idiot and that I might have given this a little bit of thought, hmm?

I'm not asking for anything which 'smothers' faith, this may have been apparent in one of my previous posts in response to you, not that you bother to read them.

Anyway, on the subject of the Great Pyramid, do you think God built it?

Actually you ask for evidence for intelligent design. You were shown that the property of intelligence is capable. It is a possibility for you, it is an actuality based on the evidence for me. Even if you were to show that Darwinan evolution is capable, under the conditions, of creating man, people migrate to Darwinian evolution based on the faith that that possibility was an actuality in the past. If I asked you for evidence for Darwinian evolution, then you would go to a lab and show how said process works. In fact that's how all evidence for Darwinian evolution is advanced and countered. If someone denies it, then it is their own choice, which is what I'm saying to you in regards to intelligent design.

Actually that's precisely what you're asking for.

Intelligent design does not address who the designer is (this could indeed be a very long thread).

Why does EVERY university in every country IN THE WORLD teach evolution as a fact? what do they know that the people who are teaching you creationism don't?

Creationists please remember this, if the people teaching you are creationists they only know as much about science and evolution as you do which is nothing, I say that with confidence because I know that if you or they knew ANYTHING about evolution you would not argue against it, the only way anyone would know about evolution and still argue against it would be if they had been indoctrinated in creationism before they were educated.
I believe in limited evolution (microevolution, adaptation) -- not complete evolution (macroevolution).

Creationists not fully understanding evolution and constantly misrepresenting it in discussions.
Big deal -- we don't believe it, so why wouldn't we constantly misrepresent it?

Take me, for instance -- at one time, in my teens, I understood evolution; but then I jettisoned it.

Now, 40 years later, evolution has changed so much, I don't think I could go back and catch up if I had to.

The do it for various reasons.

One is that by saying something ridiculous they can get in sarcasm.

another is it would take work to learn something about it; easier to make things up, or go to creo sites where they have a supply of made up stuff.

another is some of them really believe the odd things they say

another is the need for strawmen; if they restricted themselves to accurate statements about evolution, they'd have nothing to argue against.

old fashioned intellectual dishonesty may well be another.

because it is dishonest to do so when you have been repetitively informed that that is a misrepresentation and yet you continue with it.

It is easy to catch up. Evolution is a remarkably simply concept. If you put in a few hours of effort you could easily come to understand the key concepts.

Not doing so and then spewing misrepresentations about evolution when you're told over and over that they are misrepresentations is basically lying. Admitting that you don't know is the only honest approach and is far more constructive.

You got room to talk, champ.

When you guys even try to understand Genesis 1, my profile, and/or dispensation theology, I'll [vaguely] consider trying to understand macroevolution.

Hey hey hey don't group me in with others AGAIN. Don't judge me based on the actions of others AGAIN.

Seriously man I'm getting tired of you using that "you guys" term all the time. Why do you insist on treating everyone that doesn't agree with you as one collective group that all behave identically? It is a really stupid way to behave.

You must tire easily then.

I use the term "you guys" because I can't remember exactly who says what.

And for you to get tired of me, and not your 'unrelated siblings' here, shows selectivity.

You would know -- what with you and your "parkers" remark.

One of your buddies even wants us on our own island and nation -- does that bother you?
