Where does oil come from?

Oh, I think there might be some 'easter eggs' that science's myopic equipment hasn't found yet.

Remember the Coelacanth coming out of the past and biting them on their clipboards?

Even with these un-found "Easter eggs", how will that last an eternity? Earth, itself, has a finite size after all.

It's not going to last an eternity ... only for a thousand years.

Then the Great Noise.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

2 Peter 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Boy, AV, you seem to know a lot about oil reservoirs. Care to explain to us how they work?
Sure -- they sit in the ground until someone comes along with a big straw and depletes them.

(Unless that big straw gets blown up first because of implementation of cost-effective measures.)

Gas and oil are 'easter eggs'.

In my opinion, God placed gas and oil reserves in the ground, knowing we would need them in 6000 years.

In addition, we will need them to rebuild the earth after the Tribulation.

It's like when He placed copper and zinc in the ground, so the Israelites could use them in the future.

So, God gave us crude oil so we could pollute the planet with it? How do you conclude this after the example of the Tower of Babel? Why would God give us the means to push technology faster, when he wants to slow us down (as with The Tower)?

My Trans Am has both a throttle and brakes. Maybe it's the same principle. ^_^

I'm not going to dignify this with a response.

Only a person who is utterly beyond the reach of good sense let alone learning anything is under the impression that there is anything about the modern day coelacanth that makes some sort of case for creationism or is some sort of embarrassment to science.

For those who dont know (those incapable of learning can ignore this)
the crossopterygian fish of a few hundred million years ago were fresh water fish and as such were fossilized in some numbers.

They disappear abruptly from the fossil record at the end of the cretaceous along with a large percent of all other living things on earth.

No fossils of later ones have ever been found, so it was an interesting surprise to find that not all species were extinct.

The living species is a marine fish from deep water, and getting a fossil from that environment is extremely unlikely, there may well be no fossils whatever, anywhere of this fish. None have been found certainly.

In what way this says something negative about the ToE is where the real mystery comes in.

It requires deep misrepresentation, lying actually, about the facts in order to make it into somenthing demonstrating a problem for the ToE.

It took less than one minute.
No, it didn't -- the Deepwater Horizon didn't just blow up in a vacuum.

It took days for scientists to get the budget cuts and exemptions to safety rules that led to that disaster.

Whenever [Godless] science is involved, you can be sure there will be another Titanic or Chernobyl or Deepwater Horizon or Challenger or Thalidomide or Three Mile Island to clean up.

You know perfectly well that I was talking about your failure to understand the petroleum system.

By the way, do you have any examples of budget cuts and exemptions on Deepwater Horizon, and any evidence that these are what lead to the blowout?

Personally, I'll take your six examples and raise you the technological and scientific progress achieved over the last 100+ years. Pretty small price to pay.

This post is one of many examples where you are anti-science (which I believe you sometimes try to deny). ...how you blame scientists for disasters that are better connected to corporate greed. It's not the scientists who are saying "It would be less safe, but more affordable - let's go fer that option!"

I said Godless science.

Would Jesus have pushed for budget and safety cuts?

You build and operate something like the Deepwater Horizon, and you'd better have dedicated Christians running it -- in my opinion.

Facts: Scientists were not operating Deepwater Horizon. Oil rig operators were, and were doing so under the guidance of BP according to policies put in place by executive employees. The religious affiliation of any employees on any oil rig has nothing to do with safety.

How's come when something like the Challenger or Deepwater Horizon is successful, it's because science has improved our quality of life so well; but when something like the Challenger or Deepwater Horizon happens, it's suddenly corporate's fault?

These 'executive employees' you mentioned -- none of them are/were scientists?

This is why I say science runs on the No True Scotsman Principle.

Emphasis mine. Engineers, oil executives, government inspectors = "scientists" .. right, AVET?

How do you know that dedicated Christians were not running things? Or is this one of your "No True Scotsman" arguments?
