  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When I see a woman and have to look carefully to be sure that she's not a man, there's a problem.

When I see a man and have to look carefully to be sure that he's not a woman, there's a problem. Current trends make that difficult, too.

Just because women wear pants, that doesn't mean they look just like men... unless you're blind.

Anyway, we were talking about fulfillment and motherhood. I asked how I am to understand the comment that a woman is fulfilled only through motherhood. Does that mean that nuns do not ever reach their fulfillment because they are not mothers? Does that mean that I, as a woman, will never reach my fulfillment because I cannot have children and do not wish to adopt? Or does JPII intend us to delve into the realm of "spiritual motherhood" in order to explain the fulfillment of women who are not mothers?
