  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Difference between tribulation and wrath

Tribulation = wars, famines, plague, persecution, martyrdom which have been going on in frequency and intensity since Christ left. Tribulation ends before the 6th seal. It is the state of the world that every Christian has lived under and has the grace and authority to endure and overcome through the blood of Christ and the Spirit of God.

Jhn 16:33These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Rev 1:9I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rom 8:35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Act 14:22Confirming the souls of the disciples, [and] exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Wrath = Cast down devil, world reeling, cosmic disturbances, evil reigns and enslaves the world, each person's choice is either side with the devil or choose God (and die for it). No peace, no rest, nowhere to run, no overcoming by the blood of the Lamb, no hope unless it is hope in death/resurrection. Wrath begins at the 6th seal.

Isa 24:17Terror and pit and snare await you, O people of the earth.
Isa 24:18Whoever flees at the sound of terror will fall into a pit; whoever climbs out of the pit will be caught in a snare. The floodgates of the heavens are opened, the foundations of the earth shake.
Isa 24:19The earth is broken up, the earth is split asunder, the earth is thoroughly shaken.
Isa 24:20The earth reels like a drunkard, it sways like a hut in the wind; so heavy upon it is the guilt of its rebellion that it falls—never to rise again.
Isa 24:21In that day the LORD will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on the earth below.

Rev 9: 6And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

The church has endured the tribulation just as Jesus said we would. It is the wrath that we are not appointed to suffer.

According to Jesus in Matt 24, the tribulation began with the desolation of Israel and will be cut short before the antichrist rises up. He said immediately after the tribulation, the sun and moon darken and the stars fall which is the 6th seal.

The 6th seal states that is when the "great Day of His wrath" begins. The church is not appointed to wrath but has endured tribulation for two millennia.

In Revelation 7, we see the great mulititude, who is the church, standing in heaven, having come out of great tribulation, wearing their glorified bodies, and praising God for salvation, having washed in the blood of the Lamb before the wrath begins.

Well, does anyone else see that, scripturally, there is a big difference between the tribulation and the wrath, and that one ends before the other begins?
Sounds scriptural to me

Blue Letter Bible - Lexicon
Strong's Number G3709 matches the Greek ὀργή (orgē), which occurs 36 times in 34 verses in the Greek concordance

3709. orge from 3713; properly, desire (as a reaching forth or excitement of the mind), i.e. (by analogy), violent passion (ire, or (justifiable) abhorrence); by implication punishment:--anger, indignation, vengeance, wrath.
Rev 6:17 "For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"

Rev 11:18 The nations were angry, and Thy wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged
And that Thou should reward Thy servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Thy name, small and great,
and should destroy those who destroy the land"

here's some more fuel

at the 7th trump, we note a few things. it's His Coming.

that the dead are raised and either rewarded or eventually judged
and that AT THAT TIME same Coming, it is wrath time
not before that

in Rev19, we note that the Lord is Coming, and He still has the wrath of God with Him, not yet poured ....

there are plenty of ways to show that the Wrath of God (that we are not appointed to) is not the trib

the Wrath of God is a whole lot more scarier

Well, does anyone else see that, scripturally, there is a big difference between the tribulation and the wrath, and that one ends before the other begins?
absolutely.
note also, that we can even build a timeline of sorts,
from understanding when His Wrath begins.

we are told some things about THAT DAY (the day His wrath is poured)
in the 6th seal/7th trump/harvest in Rev14, and prelude to pouring those vials in Rev15

but the vials don't get poured until the 16th chapter.
Rev is NOT a linear account ....it has parts or sections that are linear.

for example...

the 6th seal, is the cusp of His Coming and His wrath...
it's the mere moments before Christ comes.
the deceived folks recognize the heavenly signs,
they realize that they are on the wrong side,
because they now realize who they were worshiping on earth, was not Messiah
and so they hide from the Lord's Coming
men are hiding in caves, from the wrath of God that is about to come.
these men correctly note that the great day of His wrath is here...

so the day is here, the day of His Coming, the day of Resurrection, the day of His wrath

but in the 6th seal the wrath is not yet realized...the day is here tho.

the 7th trump shows the Resurrection, meaning that Christ is Come,
and it is wrath of God time.
the vials are not poured here yet tho....
it's the day of, the Resurrection has just occurred...
reward and punishment is coming

the 14th chapter shows the harvest.
the elect are lovingly gathered by Christ on Zion,
and then He will then separates the rest, and throw some into the wrath of God

Rev15 is a prelude to Rev16

Rev16, those vials, The Wrath of God, is now seen poured out

by this post, i'm trying to show that the church is here for it all,
and that we are not removed at some point, to avoid stuff.

I have a recent thread entitled, the trib is NOT the wrath of God

The rapture is before the vials are poured. The vials will go two rounds.

After the vials end, God will again remember Babylon's iniquities again.
This will cause the vials to all go for a second round.
Rev14 explains the order...the wrath is in the harvest

we see it's results in Rev16

it all happens on THAT DAY
