I remember I saw my friend's brother after he got out of Army Ranger School and I walked right up to him and shook his hand.
I regretted it right away! lol
He had the most righteous vice grip I'd ever felt. It was like every bone in my hand was cracking at the same time. I wasn't exactly weak at the time as I had been doing martial arts, so I was able to brace my hand just enough to avoid multiple fractures.
I too get creeped out by the dead fish "grip." Especially if the person has a sweaty hand.
Anyone got the "handshake with forearm clasp" handshake?
Something like this:
That one can be nice, but only if you're Reagan apparently!
Or this one. The Terrorist Fist Bump:
Or one of my favorites the "Over the Top" grip:
One I really don't like is when someone just grasps your fingers before you can really commit and then they just kinda waggle them. This is the first cousin to the dead fish grip.
The correct handshake is to move in, clasp firmly but not tightly and give two good pumps...then release.
Do not dispute me! I have had this talk a number of times beginning in middle school.
