With 1,557,761 posts on this forum (99% counting) and the man is trying to tell us he is not a 'sad case',
and as if that's not enough he is a 'creationist', how damaged can one person get?

There's got to be more to the AV1611VET story than we know. I think parts of it must be rather sad, because I have no idea why he has: A) so much time on his hands and B) this unshakable pride.

Well, it's just a guess; since you guys are always referring to the Jews as ignorant, bronze-age, nomadic goat herders.

I figured you guys have a slew of adjectives for anyone who doesn't wear a white coat and embraces creationism.

Pointing out that the authors of the old testament lived in the bronze age is just stating a simple fact, not an insult. Ignorant does not mean stupid. Were the ancient hebrews living in the bronze-age? Yes. Were they ignorant of modern science? Of course. Did they herd goats? Some of them, sure.

Some anthropologists say that for the ancients to believe that the earth was flat is actually a sign of intelligence. For people with no way of observing the earth from afar to reach the conclusion that the average shape of the earth was flat, even with all those mountains and valleys, shows great intelligence and thoughtfulness. Now, they were wrong, but they worked with what they had. There's nothing contemptible about that. I'm absolutely in love with bronze-age cultures. So next time I point out that the authors of the Bible were living in the bronze-age, don't assume I'm calling them stupid. They're just ignorant of modern science. They had no way of knowing that germs caused disease, they had no rockets so they couldn't observe the shape of the earth, and they had no telescopes with which to observe the true scope of the heavens.

Ya -- make it all sciency so we'll believe it.

It's called wolves in sheeps' clothing.

You guys can wrap an insult in technospeak and dupe the general public, but we're a little smarter.

It's not an insult to say that people living a long time ago, lived a long time ago.

Like I said, I'm in love with bronze-age/iron-age cultures. Something like 80% of my free time is spent reading about it. And my wife makes a living studying bronze-age artifacts in a museum lab. So it's safe to say that we're completely absorbed with it. I have nothing but respect for ancient people. But they didn't know the earth goes around the sun. Not their fault. They worked with what they had. They weren't stupid. In fact I look up to them. I understand blacksmithing because I was taught how to do it. But I'm astounded at the power of the human mind when I think of the first smiths who developed their techniques without being taught and without and understanding of chemistry. Incredible.

Actually, AV -- you're not. You've been trying to legitimize your arguments in "technospeak" for years -- and you've failed time and time again.

Sad, really.

You can take your bronze-age rhetoric back to where it came from.

Go convince someone who doesn't know their Bible about this so-called 'bronze age'.

The pre-Hebrew sons of Adam were working with brass (albeit, I'll admit -- not bronze) long before this pseudo bronze-age was even an event on the horizon.

Genesis 4:22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

In my opinion -- (which isn't worth much around here) -- the 'bronze age' is a term that is Satan's cheap imitation of Adam's 'brass age'.

Yes -- I'll admit -- there was a period of time in earth's history where bronze was mined, smelted and used for this-and-that; but to gloat over it, and use it as an example of Jewish ignorance is just plain wrong.

The Jews were 'bronze age' because their predecessors were 'brass age'; and ten times ahead of the scientists of their time.

You said the pre-Hebrews worked with brass -- but not the Hebrews themselves.

Couldn't it be that they lost this knowledge in the Flood?

Huh?

The Jewish weapons-of-choice were made of brass, not bronze.

This was military genius at its best.

In times where Israel was being oppressed by the Philistines, they looked like innocent farmers with not a weapon around.

But when the right time came, they struck like lightning:

Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

Being someone who's worried about it?
You must still be counting because your count has gone up by more than 2 thousand in less than a day,
a 'sad case' does not even come close to covering what you are.

My friend, on a good day I can do 5000 posts.

So don't worry about me, okay?

When 4,999 of those posts are:

375

376

377

378... etc,

Clearly an intervention is called for.

Seriously, AV -- don't you have friends who worry about you doing this sort of thing?

Why don't you do something constructive instead?
He thinks he is doing something constructive, he's an advert for how to be a good creationist, he spends his life wasting his life because he's waiting to go to heaven to start another life.

Like I said, my doctor says I'm not getting enough exercise posting on the Internet all day -- so now I golf on the Internet as well. ;)
