The problem is that every attempt to reconcile a literal creation with reality winds up making God look deceitful. Therefore, it only makes sense to drop the literal creation.

The "truth" of creationism was also taught with a flat earth that had the sun moving around it. It needs to be dumped with other incorrect teachings, like the flat earth and geocentric model.

Might want to throw that literalism out the window then, seeing as the Bible does not literally support embedded age, and it does literally say that God cannot lie.

But consistency of approach to the Bible is rarely a strong point of creationists.

No, we are calling your personal interpretation of the Bible wrong because they imply a deceitful God. The simple conclusion is that God is not deceitful because embedded age creation is wrong.

Evolution deserves to be where it is, and creationism deserves to be marginalised - as one is supported with viable evidence, the other is not. Creationism trying to get above its station is encroachment - case closed.

To be totally anally precise, it doesn't show a nested hierarchy. To have a nested hierarchy, you need at least two traits and three entities, such that all three entities can share one trait and only two the other. A chromosome fusion is one trait, and H. sapiens is one entity.

Let's see you get your car through a forest or up a mountainside without a road to drive on.

When you consider mountains, I'm not sure which of the two would win... AFAIK, horses aren't that good at climbing.

Though I'm pretty sure people are much better than either. So let's abandon all mounts and vehicles!!!

Now they want to get back to the good old days when evolution wasn't taught in schools and no show on TV (if it existed then) would talk about it. Right along side The Black Death, Cholera, Witch-burnings, No Public Sanitation, and Opium Dens.
