What's your pet sin?

What is the sin that currently you find yourself most tempted by, or committing most frequently? How do you avoid it? Need prayer?

Right now, and really for quite some time, I have been severely tempted by disbelief. My faith seems perpetually weak and I'm attracted to atheism like a moth to a flame. I'm not all that good at avoiding it either.

Drinking.....but it's not not out of my control (I could stop whenever I want), its more like it helps me forget things and make things feel better even when things aren't looking so good. Whatever that means.

Lust, pride and, of course, despair- the one Catholics once thought, and might still think, unpardonable. Disbelief is a tough one, which I suspect all of us have felt, in a way.

Right now, and really for quite some time, I have been severely tempted by disbelief. My faith seems perpetually weak and I'm attracted to atheism like a moth to a flame. I'm not all that good at avoiding it either.

If I were to believe in sin and holiness, my sinful temptations would be:
Boozing around
One nights stands/lust/physical temptation

-I don't enjoy being drunk anymore, but I love the taste of alcohol...especially in the beer and wine format so cause and effect would be, if I didn't have my drinking in control, I'd be drinking way more than I do now.
-The latter is rather self-explanatory. Ladies are beautiful and if I didn't have this desire in control, I'd have no reason to not go to the extreme.

I blaspheme and swear already so I can't consider that a temptation when I already do it. For anyone that knows, knows how much of a gentle and nice guy I am but I have the mouth of a sailor and I don't use discretion between religious figures or the word 'god'.

You're right, it isn't necessarily. But it can be the ultimate cause of certain sins of omission.

Mostly lust/keeping sex drive in control, and not so much disbelief, but a suffocating sense of apathy (in many areas). Both are very much a result of my isolation, though the sex drive thing waxes and wanes all the time.

The solution to both is to socialize more, but there are other reasons standing in the way of that, as well as being a negative feedback loop (initial fear causes isolation->self-medicating tendencies and stronger lust from being alone->being mired in lust inhibits socializing and causes more isolation->cycle repeats).

I'll be blunt....lust and masturbation. Not an everyday sin at all, but enough for me to know that it's hard to stop...even when the Holy Spirit is speaking bible verses to me in my mind to get me to stop, or God is putting people in my path to make me stop it before it happens. Also lack of trust during trials, irritablity and anger, and the occassional cussword if I get very angry. Oh, and my TONGUE....
