  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not to worry, it wasn't an idea realy, just a loose association of thoughts. Sort of a train of thought... ya get on, ya see some sights, ya get off. If you don't know where to get off I'll be glad to tell ya.;)
Yes, I understand some people have trouble with manners and empathy
And yet I find you almost cuddley.
So you're homophobic too?
I'm sorry, I didn't know you were... you -know.
I wouldn't say I'm phobic. I met my wife of 25 years in a gay bar.
I almost missed that last question, I was busy beating her.
Ok, I made that last part up.:D

Tending bar. It was the only job I could get in a hurry after getting the boot for being a witness to a sexual harassment at a sales firm. I used to play & sing & get fed at one of the two the owner's vegetarian restaurant when I was a student. Then I was hungry all the time so I got a job there.
I turned it down at first when I heard it was a gay bar, but two weeeks went by & nothin' else was out there. So i got a major culture shock.

Greetings. I see the peter and pope threads are being discussed ad-nauseam again so I would like to make a simple poll for ALL denominations to answer. I am not talking about if he was simply a Bishop of Rome and only for that city but a Grand Pope of all Christianity.

So this poll is quite simple "CAN CHRISTIANITY SURVIVE TODAY WITHOUT THE POPE/PAPACY OF ROME"

Maybe a better question, is it Christianity? A paragraph out of Jesse Lyman Hurlbut's book, The Story of the Christian Church, seems to make one wonder. Posted here just for review:

"We name the last generation of the first century, from 68 to 100 AD, "The Age of Shadows," partly because the gloom of persecution was over the church; but more especially because of all periods in the history, it is the one about which we know the least. We have no longer the clear light of the Book of Acts to guide us; and no author of that age has filled the blank in the history. We would like to read of the later work by such helpers of Paul as Timothy, Apollos, and Titus, but all these and Paul's other friends drop out of the record at his death. For fifty years after Paul's life a curtain hangs over the church, through which we strive vainly to look; and when at last it rises, about 120 AD with the writings of the earliest church-fathers, we find a church in many aspects very different from that in the days of Peter and Paul."

How do you make a bar tender?

LOL, I was waiting for that.
She was an LPN at a geriatric center & the building engineer was a lsebian. My wife had been bar-maid and was lo oking for a place where she could dance without getting hit on everytime she turned around. So her friend told her about another gat bar with the coolest dance floor in town. She met the guy who made posters for our bar & he introduced her to me.

I am not sure what that meant, but then I have been known to be a little dense at times ehehe

I offered the beginnings of a joke.

How do you make a bar tender --- tender as in like you can make a steak tender

Rick replied "Usde it as currency?"

Note Usde is not a word

Ok I'm slow I just got it.
I could have started with... A termite walks into a bar and asks, “Is the bar tender here?”

However...

A blonde walks into a bar. She forgot to duck

A horse walks into a bar. The bartender says "So why the long face?"

One day a man walked into a bar with his dog. He walked up to the counter and the bartender said”We don’t allow dogs in this bar.”The man replied”But sir,my dog is a smart dog it can talk!”The bartender didn’t look impressed but gave him a shot anyway. The man then asked his dog”What grows on a tree?”The dog replied”Bark, Bark”The man again asked his dog and said”What’s above a house?”The dog said “Roof, Roof”Then for the final time the man asked his dog “What’s the opposite of smooth?” The dog replied “Rough, Rough”Very unimpressed the bartender threw them both out of the bar.The dog then turned to his owner and said”Which one did I get wrong?”
