• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

News Alert
A story worth watching: new Noah’s Ark claim on Ararat at over 4000 meters (14,000 feet, above permanent snow line and well above tree line). Pictures show wood beams, complex joints, wooden nails, racks, doors, staircases and rooms in a large structure buried under the ice that might have preserved it for millennia. Too early to comment; read the announcement and look at the pictures. Click on ENG on the site for English. See also CMI news flash. Other possible explanations should be considered before jumping to conclusions, but the amount of detail in the photographs and the number of witnesses, the exploration all documented on film, makes it very intriguing to say the least, much more detailed than most prior eyewitness accounts. Undoubtedly new questions will arise with the discovery. Stay tuned.

Stay tuned.

No, thanks -- I'll pass.

Only those weak in the faith (or having no faith) need physical evidence to back what's written in the pages of the Bible.

Since when is having physical evidence being weak in faith? You are treading on dangerous ground.

Having to have physical evidence to back your faith is treading on dangerous ground, in my opinion.

The Word should back your faith, not physical evidence.

"Treading on dangerous ground" is in reference to your attempt to judge others' faith. I guess since the Bible lacks any physical evidence you need to rely only on the "word".

Cute.

Faith is the inverse of sight -- the weaker the faith, the stronger the sight; the stronger the faith, the weaker the sight.

In this dispensation, that is.

...feed them too much information and their minds will go blank.
And whose table do you sit at?

Re 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Funny press conference. A pitiful 13 people in the audience, most of them taking pictures like mad. I've never seen such an empty press conference before, and I've never seen a press conference with that many camera flashes before either.

Its the boy crying wolf problem They been discovering that ark since at least marco polos time.

One of my favourites is that its in a glacier. A glacier grinds anything in it to shreds, and then dumps it at the terminus.

Interesting. So your faith is stronger because there is no evidence to support any of the Bible?

The weaker your faith, the more you remind yourself that you don't need evidence.

Our faith is informed, not blind. Just because we cannot see everything does not mean we are in the dark. That said, desiring to find artifacts iumportant to human history is hardly a bad thing. In fact, with the amout of verses about wisdom and knowledge I would say being happy in your ignorance is the worse offense,

back on topic.....I'll wait for confirmation to get excited. It would certainly be cool if it is Noah's ark....either way it has no impact on my faith.

Indeed. If Noah's Ark was actually found, it would make millions, if not billions of people reevaluate their stance. Assuming the christian belief system is true it could lead to millions of souls finding God, thereby avoiding the everlasting torture and gnashing of teeth in Hell. It's funny how people who declare that they seriously believe in the concept of Hell seem to have nothing but "meh"s to offer with the prospect of millions of people avoiding this gruesome, everlasting torture.

Peter :)

I don't agree.

If they found Noah's Ark, it would just make matters worse, as scientists would just get in there and either deny it was the Ark, or "discover" something that would contradict the Bible in some way (like it being made of maple wood, or some such nonsense).

And I have no doubt that they would date it to BC 50,000 or longer.

This is why I think God, in His wisdom, didn't leave evidence lying around all over the place.

You have buried your one talent under a rock. How will you account for this.

Your faith is so feeble it can stand no challenge, so you have neither faith nor sight.

:sigh:

John 9:25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

You have buried your one talent under a rock. How will you account for this.

Psalm 94:22 But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

Your faith is so feeble it can stand no challenge, so you have neither faith nor sight.

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

Are you trying to show how no one ever, in the history of mankind, has had the faith of a mustard seed?
