• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My camera is always within reaching distance of me! Photini has made sure of that!

I took on the task last night of starting to learn how to post-process skin tones. Ey ey ey! It helps though that I found a theory that is somewhat mathematical about how cyan, magenta and yellow should be balanced. I take a great deal of comfort in numbers..and it allows me to be certain that I am in the ballpark and not just guessing. Once I'm in the ballpark range, I feel more comfortable trusting my eyes.

Of course, this all leads me to the realization that I need my monitor calibrated. I can't afford it now, but maybe this Fall.

That is not cheap. I have not even thought about learning how to do crazy things like adjusting skin tones and all in my pics.

It can get super expensive. But there is some very decent calibration software available for around $100 or so. I think that's pretty reasonable. In the meantime I think a gray card will help a great deal.

Have you looked at these 2 free popular image optimizers.

IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide

xat.com: GIF JPEG Compression software download, JPEG Optimizer, Image Optimiser, Slide Show/Screensaver for PC and TV/DVD/Digital Camera

$100 is not bad. I am going to want a bigger monitor if I get too involved in this stuff!

I will check those out!

I just finished a 2000ish word paper...this thing has been a nightmare. Literally thousands of pages of oral accounts from the depression and after to sift through for this obscure question, aaaaaaaaaaaaaargggggghhhh! BUT DONE :)

If anyone has some good Orthodox hymns they could post here: http://www.christianforums.com/t7459015/

There's a poor guy who looks fed up a bit by Contemporary Christian music, I'm not sure if he's really even considered traditional chant as a possibility. I posted a few, maybe some of you with a wider knowledge base and good Youtube examples could help him out? :sorry:
