What would you say to people who agree with Christian morality, yet have a hard time believing in God and Jesus Christ? I feel pulled towards Christianity and the Bible, but I never got to the point where I honestly believe.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dear Golden Maven. What do you find so hard to believe? Christianity is straightforward: Love God with all our hearts, with all our souls, and with all our minds. That comes easy enough, if we consider that God made us in His image, He loves us, and we are the only beings in this Universe, who can think and reason, we know the difference between Good, and NOT GOOD. The Commandment like the first,is, Love our neighbour, as we love ourselves. That does not seem easy, but we have years to learn, we have Jesus to help and guide us, and we have a Heavenly Father who forgives us every time we stumble or fail, if we ask Him sincerely, and also forgive others, as God forgives us. We start by treating all we know and meet, as we would like to be treated ourselves. Jesus will know how truly we try, and Jesus will give us His Love, His Joy and His Peace, to share with each other. Once we truly start to do this, we will find that it becomes easier and easier, we will enjoy life and get better and better. Unless we try, we will never know, Golden Maven. We all believe in something, so what must you stop believing to open your door to Christ?
Folks that follow their own passions, stain their consciences and harden their hearts such that
they lose their ability to discern spiritual things. Is it a waste to cling to what can be seen, knowing
that all that can been seen is fleeting at best, or to cling to what cannot be seen - eternal truth?

That they (like a lot of Christians for that matter) haven't really understood Christian morality. A real Christian morality should make one ask "why on earth would somebody live like that?" to which the only suitable response is "because Christ is risen from the dead and New Creation has begun".

It sounds like God has allready touched your heart to become a believer, now your job is to find Him. It's not hard, as God is love. Ask God to reveal Himself to you and He will. I am so happy that you have come this far, and it will get easier as God reveals Himself little by little so it's not overwhelming. Bless you.
