I don't think I could see it. First, it is just to add horror and fear (always remembering that fear is the opposite of love).

I don't need to have things added to my imagination that make me worry (about end times).

I don't need to hear someone's confused view of the Bible.

I definitely don't want to go see something that gives power to the devil's side.

I think I'll pass.

sounds a lot like the "prophecy" series of movies starring Christopher Walkin.

I'll watch this one as might be a great conversation starter with non-christians.

I'm also a big Dennis Quaid fan.

Movies are movies, just stories, can use them to turn a non-believer towards a biblical discussion, that's the way to approach this.

the first one is a legitimate reason not to see the movie. If it will cause you to fear or worry, do not see it. It falls under the principle of guarding what you do so that you do not stumble.

As for the second point quoted. If we do not know what people believe about the Bible, how are we to ever present the truth in a way that shows the untruth of their belief. You have to know someone's side before you can present your own.

Let's see...
Your first post is on this thread.
Your first post is ranting.
Your first post is self-contradicting.
Your first post is atypical of promoters of movies.
I bet you're a troll.

1. i was searching about the movie and this came up.
2. Most sermons are rants
3. I do not see how it is as you say "self contradicting"
4. I'm not quite sure what you are getting at by that. Im not a promoter of the movie per se, because it is not to everyone's tastes. I am a promoter of knowing before you judge and researching the other side so that you can make a clearly intelligent point of your own. And im also a supporter of promoting the truth of Scripture by knowing, understanding and being able to refute the lies commonly believed and put into the brains of the people.

i would like to point out one caution in the beginning of that theory. While movies are just stories, there are elements of truth within them. Take Harry Potter for instance. The story is just a story, but the idea of Witchcraft is true. Children who read and watched the movies could not differentiate between the two and went out and tried to perform the spells. This could lead them down a path of witchcraft and wizardry in the future, which is very dangerous because they are terrible things to mess with. This is why we must be careful to NOT indulge in "stories" that might tempt us. If we know it will not tempt us, then thats good. But if we are unsure we should not indulge in it because it could open a door that quite possibly could lead us down a terrible path which we do no wish to enter.

LOL,

Cmon, seriously? You are worried about the safety of children trying harry potter "spells"? It's just fantasy!

Sometimes we take this far too seriously, I love Harry Potter and don't believe in wizards and witches.

The Bible clearly states that witchcraft is real. it is very real in third world countries (meaning it is commonplace), and it is scary stuff that can destroy lives.

I really don't see any proof of witchcraft being "real", sure there are people who practise it but I do not see the correlation between reality and harry potter.

people practice it... and it works. how is that not real?
the connection is that Harry Potter portrays witchcraft as good and "fun." That it can be done without danger. This is untrue. And when a child begins to try the witchcraft within the Potter series and that does not work, they will be more inclined to turn to real witchcraft. And that is dangerous.

*rolls sleeves up*

Hi all, first post and its in the deep end :liturgy:

Ignoring the angels names and looking at the concepts I see a movie which teaches Jesus will come again by being born a human once more (That's novel; I thought he was supposed to come a second time in glory to judge...), that God is the enemy of all humanity and that the saviour is a fallen angel who "throws off the shackles of serving God" (hmmm I know that concept from somewhere )....

So it appears to be "Terminator with Angels" but the twist is that its about a fallen angel, who casts off the "shackles" of serving God, waiting for a prophet to be born of humans, and who sets out to protect humans from an "evil" God. That isnt just blasphemous, its a reads like a PR job for the beast/false prophet

Oh and just wait until Muslims see Gabriel represented as a wrathful hater and destroyer of mankind

*puts 2p in pot*

That is absolutely horrible.
Well, as the attacks against Him grow more and more blatant...maybe He will come soon?! I hope so!!!

I love your thinking sister...Amen! Come Lord Jesus!

This looked like one of the few interesting movies coming out in the near future. I am a fan of epic supernatural fictions like this, and will probably watch it. *Dons flame-retardant suit*

Hi everyone!

Well... my wife and I are going to see it tomorrow night. We too like epic fiction:blush:.

Sensational plots are popular, and in order to refute; I better know what I'm talking about.

If you all don't mind, this old Lutheran will report back once I've seen it.

Respectfully,

Mark.
