We don't spend a lot of time wondering about the world to come; we believe that
if we lead a good life and follow G-d's will via His commandments, the future will
take care of itself.
Satan is only mentioned in Genesis IF you believe the serpent was Satan.
Not quite true. Satan is explicitly mentioned in Job, I Chron. 21:1 (tempting David), and Zechariah 3 (protesting the appointment of someone name Joshua to the position of High Priest).
Those are the only explicit references to Satan in the Hebrew Bible. Makes one wonder how he came to play so prominent a role.
Yeah, I misread "only mentioned in Genesis" as excluding the rest of the Hebrew Bible. In context of your response to the previous poster, I should have known better. (Moving the modifier "only" so that it modifies "if" would have helped.)
Sorry about that.

that's the problem with Judaism, you don't get a clear answer.
Salam formy!I remember someone asked a Rabbi in a website saying, if we will go to a cleaning process then we all end up in heaven why bother to follow the laws, the Rabbi said that process is more painful then you can imagine, and I also remember another rabbi saying Gehannom can be eternal.

Thank you for your input. The way looks on that other thread, there is no clear answer from Christians either.
Though Jesus did mention "gehenna" in the NT of the Christian Bible. Thoughts?

Matt 23:33 "Serpents! produce of vipers! how? ye may be fleeing from the judging of the geennhV <1067> "
[Ezekiel 39:12/Reve 14:14]
Strong's Number G1067 matches the Greek γέεννα (geenna), which occurs 12 times in 12 verses in the Greek concordance of the KJV
Mentioned 11 times in Gospels, 1 time in James 3:6
I suppose it depends on what the Lord Jesus meant by "hell" in the NT/NC of the Christian Bible. There are Christians who don't believe in hell?
other then the ultra liberal progressive new sects ones?
I like my answers to be clear ;p
I don't. I like my answers to be honest, even if that means that it isn't clear.
The clear message of Judaism is that it is best to be the best person you can be in this life and not to worry about the afterlife. It just isn't that big of a deal in Judaism.
Well, it's similar to Islamic message about what to do in this life.
Honesty is most times the best policyAnd I like them to be honest too, honest and clear.
