  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lunches! What do you pack?

my boys love fruit roll-ups (i make my own from real fruit in the dehydrator), hummus and pita bread, ants on a log (celery with peanut butter and raisins), macaroni and cheese salad, tuna cups, mini quiche (I make ahead of time and keep in the freezer, they thaw by the time lunch time comes), yogurt and granola, veggie sticks and dip, baked potato "chips" (home made), and fruit salad.

I have not mastered the quiche, lol. I make stratas..quiche without the crust. I can't do crust...I don't really bake. That's a good idea. I usually make one every other week because I like them for breakfast.

Those are all great ideas!

This is almost exactly the menu I offer for lunches for my kids. I've never done "breakfast for lunch" though - great idea! I added some more options in blue.

Also, I offer ritz crackers (they like the roasted veggie ones), pepperoni slices, and cheese squares (I cut my own) as my own version of a lunchable. :)

They buy milk at school every day b/c I haven't found a less expensive alternative - other than sending reusable water bottles every day and those tend to get get lost and need to be replaced frequently.
