  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Mentally unstable. I need an advise.

I had being dealing with mental issues since I was a kid. The doctors diagnose me with schizoaffective disorder and learning disabilities. I have been taking a drug recently that increase my libido and I have been masturbating. Am I being a sinner? I dont watch pornography. But, I had being having racing though of girls in my mind every time I am in the school, it trigger those though.

What you guys think I should do? Am I a complete sinner?

Hi, the bible don't mention masturbation as a sin, so I would be careful to say that others sin if they touch. And if it is a sin, still I think the most important thing to do is to not make lust a god of its own that we put above God. I think it is unrealistic to expect young men to not feel lust. More realistic it would be to put the ideas of girls and sex below God, to see that it is something less important then Him that gives us eternal life. And by doing this I think people are on the right way, doing what is right. In the end it is not how many times you think or not think about girls that makes you saved, but if you believe in Jesus and follow him or not.

There are a number of good, GOD-anointed Christian ministeries that counsel for these disorders. Have you spoken to your church leaders for help and direction?

You many find that your mental disorders from childhood could have been helped by practical counselling and not just drugs.

Masturbation can also lead to lustful desires and thoughts and can lead to sin.

Did you ever experience sexual abuse or trauma as a child, because this can manifest in later life, and good Christian counselling can also help you to overcome and conquer these things.

Blessings.

If this drug is helping you to be more outgoing, then I would continue taking the drug but advise the doctor as soon as possible about your increase in libido and its intensity (call him on the phone). He may tell you to cut back the dose.

Regarding masturbation: Jesus said that even those who looked at a person lustfully was sinning, so unless a person can make love to an imaginary wife/husband... (that's between you and God)

You may want to expand your social circle and start interacting with women in your church or with other Christian women that you know of. Why waste a good libido when you can perhaps find a mate, be fruitful and multiply?

The goal of psychiatric treatment is to help others become more normal and more involved in society. It sounds like it's working for you. I don't know if you ever watched Dexter on TV, but I figure if he can succeed at having a normal life, there's hope for all of us.
