  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

AV is absolutely right in the context of his challenge. The problem is that he has not demonstrated that his challenge is a sufficient anolgy to reality.
Reality can take a hike.

AV, we want to debate reality, not your fantasy. So until you're ready to debate reality, how about you take a hike?
I"d miss my breakfast.

I agree. I'm getting tired of almost every single thread here being hijacked and dominated by AV and his lunatic rantings. Give it a rest. Let the rest of us have normal discussions without all these goofy distractions.......please!

Interesting choice of words, Bear, in light of the OP.

Is this what you call "normal discussion"?
Yet more evidence that the 6,000-year-old Earth propounded by YECs is nonsense.
Until someone takes my place, I'll continue to do what I do best --- defend the faith.

Like the village idiot, who walks around blowing a whistle at people because he thinks it makes him important, when all it does is single him out as the village idiot.

Fair enough --- I'm the village idiot.

Bear, if it'll make you feel any better, pick any of the four subforums below, and I won't post a single thing in it for a week, starting immediately. I'm curious to see how things go.

  1. CREATION AND EVOLUTION
  2. EXPLORING CHRISTIANITY
  3. ORIGINS THEOLOGY
  4. PHYSICAL & LIFE SCIENCES
Your choice.

Against what? Mormons? Jews? Catholics? evangelicals? The church of norway? Deism? Atheism? Russpotarians?

You mean your personal belief that the earth was created 6000ish years ago in a way *exactly* as described in genesis 1.
Correct.
hmmm. Does it make you happy?
It gives me joy. I feel that that is my calling: to defend the Creation in the face of everything from Atheism - Zen.

Number 1, the thread wouldn't be so "large and embarrassing" if the atheists would have realized from the start that my Apple Challenge actually agrees with them that there is no evidence for the Creation that can be ascertained by today's science.
Its not that that bothers them, its the secondary implication. Its saying that creation could still exist and somehow its located in a tiny gap of the universe we don't understand. that understood we should some how devote our lives to this belief.
Once one starts letting ignorance control their life, they might as well attribute it to fairies instead of a war god.
As in most of my other challenges (if not all of them), the first ones to respond are the ones that don't know anything, and shouldn't have responded in the first place. (I think it's called SPAMMING.) You guys are very quick at showing us what you don't know --- it's showing us what you do know that takes forever. My Taj Mahal Challenge is an excellent example of people responding that should have just kept quiet.
One of the reasons it takes a long time for us to show you what we know is because the world around us is complex. It is with great difficulty to show the world simply as well truthfully. The world is not the black and white that was understood to us as kids. i am sorry.
I don't know how many times I've asked myself, "Why did that person even respond, if they don't know the answer?", but I'll also admit that I'm guilty of that too. I'll reply with a whole paragraph that says, in effect, "I don't know."
I tend not to respond if i cannot find the answer or if the questions intention cannot be dissected. Sometimes its more fun to comment why that question was asked, then answering it. In your case this is commonly true. As I have said before, not all questions are straight froward or direct. I have seen you ask a question baiting for a specific answer to somehow vindicate that this or that is true, when the question has no tangible relationship with what we all know your trying to relate it too. When people ask you to clarify the question your attack them or ignore them.
Number 2, I didn't answer the challenge four other times in that thread alone. They are scattered over other threads as well.
so are your links to said challenge. I would suspect that amount of times linked to that challenge far succeed that amount of answers to floating around to said challenge. I think you will be more effective if you instead of linking to the challenge, simply stating "theirs no evidence of creation" if that is indeed what your saying with said challenge.
