  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is anyone up for a thread where we share the art projects our children work on (including those that require parental assistance)? If there is any story behind the pic, share it as well. I could always use some ideas to implement with my boy at home, so this would be a fun place to share ideas and stuff like that :)

Ok, we went on our first nature walk of the fall the other day and collected some random items and made these pics out of it (inspired from the book Leafman). They were made out of leaves, twigs, pieces of bark/pinecone and one tiny little rock.

Those are great MsDahl! What a good idea!

my camera's not working at the moment so I'll post a pic of my daughters work later. She's mostly into drawing/painting faces at the moment, and she loves cutting paper and glueing, she also likes to cut pics out of catalogues to glue.

Those are great! My son's artwork isn't much to show, he is still all about the process and not abot the product (which is fine). He loves to really get into his artwork but by the end its a big colorful blob and that's it! :p We do some art every day when the babies nap!

We've been trying to do some drawing most niights. She has her own book and pencil case to draw in, even a My LIttle pony colouring book. I got her a sketch book with really nice thick paper to draw in. She seems to really enjoy it. She's only 3, so it's not amazing or anything, but she does draw what looks like people and starts to try and write letters.

Here is a picture my daughter painted of me a few weeks ago. She also added a sun, a balloon and a flower. And it's hard to see but she wrote 'MAMA' at the top in pink pencil! so cute! She's 3yrs 3 months old.

Wow, that is great for her age without help! Cool, thanks for sharing :)

About the ones I posted, I hope it was clear that mommy helped him out with it. (I did say that artwork with assistance counts) ;) I do have an adorable rainbow that he made for me without my help that I will hunt down and scan and post.

lol, thanks. She loves to paint and draw, and she's very into faces, it's hard to tell but she's actually tried to paint in teeth! She's very observant, and will think about what she wants to draw and then try to make it look right, it's so cute. Can you tell I'm so proud of her???
