• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not African-Americans per se, just people who want to promote equality as it applies to African-Americans. You can have white people wanting that.
So Skinheads could indeed join and even change the rules of the club if they gained a majority?

Its called freedom to assemble. Private clubs can have as strict of regulations of whoever can be in as they want. Its no different from allowing churches having creeds or baptisms be required to join.

If it is a club meeting on school ground and receiving official recognision it is not a private club.

"Official recognition" can be a nebulous term, but you are generally correct. Provided you are not disrupting the function of the group, then you should not be prohibited from joining the group.

So...is our goal here to keep submitting different types of people to see if anyone will say "Oh no, not those guys!" If so can I save us all some time and effort and just post this: "Yes, X can join the group as long as they don't disrupt the group."

I'm not sure that the Equal Access law says anything about disruption which is quite a vague term

Well, any group will probably have a rule saying "if you disrupt the group then you will be kicked out." So if a skinhead decides to actually put up anti-discrimination posters or whatever, then it'd be okay. But if said skinhead instead starts vandalizing NAACP Jr.'s own posters, then he'd be kicked out just like anybody else.

And what if the skinheads join en masse to vote to change the rules, even the mission of the club? Should they be allowed to do that?

The point of course is that there are many reasons for a club to be exclusive most are. For example, the Chess Club excludes people who want to join the club to play football. The only clubs that get penalized for such things, however, is the Christian clubs. And even though our left leaning friends will likely never admit it, this expose the blatant double standard from their side of the aisle

There will come a day when you will rue the day you said these words.

Tick, tick, tick...

And I'm sure you'd be the goon at God's side. "Oooh, can I turn the showers on, Boss? Can I can I can I? I love to watch all the Bad People twitch when the gas hits 'em..."

No, thank you. ;) Coming from someone who served in our countries military at a time when it was looked down upon, I consider that high praise indeed.

With ShieldOFaith present, God's presence on Judgement Day would be redundant.

ShieldOFaith, in his infinite wisdom, has already assumed the role of prosecutor, judge and jury.

If the organisation is open to all, then yes, they should be allowed to join; however, they must be respectful of the rules and regulations of the organisation. As to changing those some rules, make the process extremely difficult - decisions must be unanimous, etc.

Yeah they can. I doubt an open member of the Church of Satan will be allowed into College Ministries

You're missong the point here which is that the Christian club mentioned was denied recognition because it did exclude syuch people, and that denial has been heratily approved by our friends on the left.

Wait, what Christian club? I must have missed it.
