  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Biggest loser on CF.....

I hate those stupid calipers. :sorry: I suppose I should care what my body fat percentage is, but I think it would just depress me.

I really only care what I *look* like.

I know a bunch of guys who can outlift me, but they also displace alot of water when submerged and I can solve all my disputes with them with a foot race.

Because numbers don't mean everything. The world's strongest man can bench more than Brad Pitt, but the majority of the women out there could care less about that, and technically I'm obese by BMI standards.

But, if you want to see your abs, you need to be around 7-8% bodyfat, so knowing that, and knowing what my current BF% is would give me a decent "target" weight that isn't just a random round number I'm throwing out there.

My current random round number is 205 lbs.

It's more random than round. :)

Unlike me. :(

7-8% is pretty ambitious. My ex was around 9-11% (6' 200lbs).

I'm not necessarily targeting that though. I'm just saying that's the range where you start to see abs, so know that, and knowing current BF gives a pretty good idea how much a person needs to lose to get where they want.

Like, if I had to lose 30lbs to see my abs, I'd be content with losing 20lbs, so maybe somewhere around 10-12%.

Just more info is all.

I want to be 195-200, but if you ask my room mate, he's thinking 205-210 is where I'd look good.

I've been kinda just trying to "count" points the last few days to see how it would be...

It's hard to eat all the points. How is stuffing yourself supposed to help you lose weight? I'm so confused. lol.

You are learning that you can eat enough and feel "full" and still be taking in healthy enough food to lose the weight and ultimately maintain a healthy weight.

Dieting is a bad word. Making changes and eating healthy is the key to success. Your body shouldn't be/feel deprived of anything that it needs to survive.

stuffing isn't.

eating enough and frequently enough so your body a) recognizes it doesn't need to store calories because it's getting them frequently and b) your metabolism doesn't drop (the space BETWEEN meals is what drops metabolism) is what keeps you burning.

I don't feel deprived, I feel over-full. :( It makes me feel yucky.

I was told that I *have* to eat all the points. That means I'm eating ALL DAY LONG. I have to literally make myself eat it because I'm not in the least bit hungry.

Again, it makes me feel like a huge pig.

I think it would be easier if I didn't have to eat SO many points. :p

Thanks for reading while I'm a gooberhead. :D

Maybe you need to switch the foods that you are eating to get all the points...and I think the points are more of a "limit" than you HAVE to eat that many, but I could be wrong. MCN would be a good person to ask about this. :)

Several people at work that have been/are on the program told me that I have to eat all the points assigned to my weight.

That would be awesome if they were wrong.

MCN! HELP! :D

I don't remember being told you have to eat all the points. I don't know for sure, though. I have no problem eating all my points :D My stomach growls all the time  The most annoying thing is when it growls at night when I am trying to go to sleep and I don't have any points left.

Hmmm. Guess I'll have to go to one of the meetings to find out. LOL.

Thanks, MCN.

If you are out of points (or even if you aren't ;) ) eat some veggies Maycontainnuts! They are almost 0 calories and feel you up quite well.

Like I could eat a salad until I was so full I was almost feeling sick, and it would only be 50 calories or so (the salad I ate not not have dressing/cheese/bread/etc).
