What astounds me most about this is that they do not even have the backing of their own church. If we continue to accept such things in our society Christians will have only themselves to blame when there are no Christian moral values left.
 :(

We see things like that here too. And yes, prayer is vital. And for us in the states, so is voting. Don't know how it is there. We cannot remain silent, but give ourselves no rest, daily lifting up those who are in authority. Plus, we change hearts one at a time, by taking the good news of Jesus to each individual. The sinful nature, the unrenewed mind, the spiritually dead man, can't be expected to do what is right. They need Jesus. However, laws can be made and enforced that are congruent to scripture in that, in the killing of the unborn, and other areas too.

We each have our part to play. :) We can do it, through Christ Jesus.

By law everyone over the age of 18 has to be enrolled and must vote. They call it our right to vote. Dad's argument always was: if it is our right to vote it should be our right not to vote. Still if we are not involved in the election process how can we complain about who is in leadership. We recently had a major election and there was an Australia wide prayer network praying for months before that whoever got in and in whatever capacity would be the people God had chosen for this season and that those who were not of God in power would be removed.
As with many countries around the world there are many laws that have been passed over its time that are anything but godly.
My concern in this case is based on two things.
1. They have taken a godly stand and the church officials are washing their hands of it and refuse to back them really. People are becoming to scared to take a stand and so even the church in many ways is falling into decay. The church is becoming more and more like everyone else: same moral values same hangups etc. We really need to see the passion and fire of God reignited and it starts with us. We regularly need to ask am I passionately progressing the Kingdom of God in all that I do?
2. Because of the anti discrimination laws the school is in a position where they might loose on this count if those involved decided to take it to court. I don't know as stating that it is against the teachings of God would stand up in court. Unfortunately stuff like that is becoming all to common. I heard recently that apparently Bible in Canada are said to be "hate literature" and you cannot read them in public any more (I am really hoping I am wrong on this one and if any of our Canadian friends can correct me on this I am open to it - but it is what I have heard.)
