  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Biggest loser on CF.....

Chicken slow-cooked in mojo sauce in the crockpot is really yummy, too. It goes very well with salsa rice (brown rice, salsa, and four cheese mexican blend shredded cheese mixed together). :yum:

slow cooking chickens in a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce will also net you a bowl full of shredded awesome.

I have done that on several occasions. Pork loin done that way makes amazing pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, too.

I would recommend this:
Greek Roast Lamb ingredients list:

4 lb leg of lamb.
2 cloves garlic, halved and peeled.
1 onion, chopped finely.
Juice of half a lemon.
1 cup of dry white wine.
½ cup of water.
3 tablespoons of butter, melted.
1 tablespoon of salt.
Pinch of pepper.
Instructions for Greek Roast Lamb:

Wash the leg of lamb thoroughly.

Slit the lamb in 4 places and insert garlic into the slits; then season with salt and pepper.

Combine the melted butter and lemon juice and brush over the lamb. Place in a roasting pan with a lid. Add the white wine, onion, and water. Cover and bake at 325°F (160°C) for 2 hours.

Remove the lid and increase heat to 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 1 hour, basting every 15 minutes.

It's hard for me because if I wasn't married to this big meateater, I would be vegetarian. No doubt. I was researching it thoroughly when Zepp and I got back together. Was just about to make the decision to be veg, but I have to cook for him too and it's tempting sometimes to have hamburger meat.

Meat sometimes grosses me out because I'll think "you're eating pieces of dead stuff". I went for seven months without eating any meat one time. Now I'll eat meat because my body needs it but I don't eat a lot of it and sometimes I go through phases where it just doesn't interest me at all. I don't care if other people eat it, though.

oh yeah, workouts.

treadmill yesterday morning, then I threw in an extra squat routine just to switch it up a bit.

started at 150lbs, did 5 reps. bumped to 160, 5 reps, etc until I went down somewhere around 210 and couldn't come back up.

1 minute rests between sets.

I figure once I week I'll do that and try to increase my total weight moved.

As such, no treadmill today. going up and down a flight of stairs was enough.

Nice. I have never done squats until I couldn't come back up. I have actually wondered if it was possible to reach that point (I have done a set of squats, and then had to sit down cause my head hurt and my heart was hammering for ~5 minutes). Currently I just do a couple sets of 250 lbs or so (15 per set) occasionally, but when I quit doing them last fall I was up to 340 lbs or something (3x15).

Do you recommend doing the sets of 5 rather then sets of 15?

Kirby should totally be our mascot. You know, slow and steady wins the race? I can totally see it. ^_^
Kirby will remain in my CF Character background until I lose all the weight I want to lose. :D
