  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, how's this:

I'm not voting for McCain because I find the statements of his "spirtual advisors" far more reprehensible than anything I've heard about the Rev. Wright. Thus, I will vote for Obama.

Lessor of two evils.

I now return you all to this thread's preselected program - which apparently is just foaming at the mouth and bashing Obama until one's fingers start to bleed all over the keyboard.

Now dats funny I don't care where you are from..hahahaa

Let them. Anyone who isn't already firmly in the foaming-at-the-mouth-right-wing-Christian-conservative camp can read their vitriol just as well as we can. It's no coincidence that Obama's poll numbers and electoral successes climb every time he gets smeared like this. People get disgusted with the level the anti-Obama crowd is willing to stoop to, which helps convince them to donate money, spread the truth and come out an vote for Obama when their chance comes. Like I said earlier in the thread, if it weren't for the sort of people that the anti-Obama crowd is made up of, we wouldn't be nearly as successful. We owe the dishonest a debt of gratitude for the way they've helped propel Obama to the top.

That's funny. Right-wing talk show hosts have been saying for months now that if Obama wins the primary they might as well give up. The right-wing pundits consider him unbeatable. Your amateur opinion doesn't hold much weight.
Got a link? Sound bite? Anything?

LOL...such hatred. Been hanging out with Rev. Wright?
You read hatred into that post? I'm so sorry for the mindset you must be in where you look for hatred in everyone who disagrees with you. I merely pity the position you've taken, and the reasons for which you've taken it.

Haha, why yes, as a matter of fact, I do! I'm so glad you asked!
LOL- One quote from Rush is evidence that Right Wing Pundits have been saying this for months? Got the whole clip so we can hear it in context?

You don't know about Rush Limbaugh directing his ditto heads to cross over and vote for Hillary in the Democratic primaries because she is the weaker candidate? You don't know about Limbaugh having Bill Clinton on his show to promote Hillary?

It was in all the papers.

I guess you listen to Rush more than I do. I've been hoping for an Obama victory since he entered the race. I suspect we'll be seeing a spectacular flame-out before November.
Rezko and Wright may be just the tip of the iceberg. Wait until middle America gets a regular dose of Obama's spiritual advisor telling them the white Romans killed Jesus
because He was black, that the US invented AIDS to kill black men, that God should damn America. Ooooh, just wait.

Like I said, if he's smart, he should just admit he joined the church to kiss up to the local power base. I suspect we'll be hearing that defense sooner or later.

I am just a dumb good ole boy from the south but....

I think all of the fuss tween Obama and Killary is to devide the democrats at vote time.

This makes it easier for the population to accept who the true powers behind the sceens to put into office who they please as they have always done....hahahahaha

It's rather depressing that, were we to meet in real life, you would be unable to face argumentative criticism without resorting to violence. It says a lot about you, and your ability to defend your position rationally.

And I suspect that we won't. This campaign hasn't even begun to take off. Right now we're just dealing with the prospect of such a dynamic politician representing a party. I can't wait until the focus shifts to the possibility of him being elected President.

Opinion polling suggests that there is not a significant change in the number of people voting Democratic should either Clinton or Obama win. Obama does end up with more votes, but it's not a large enough split to go anywhere near calling the party "divided". You want divided, check out the Republican party. Half their base can't stand the fact that McCain isn't cowing to the far right like they want him to.

Obama recently explained the situation fully to the editorial board of some Chicago papers, including the Tribune - a Republican paper. Apparently they were completely satisfied with the answers. Careful, LonesomeTexan. Your partisan vitriol is showing again.
You're joking, right?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Tribune#Editorial_policy
Wikipedia.org said:
In 2004, the Tribune endorsed President Bush for re-election, a decision consistent with its unwavering support for the Republican Party (it has not endorsed the Democratic Nominee for President since 1872, when it backed Horace Greeley, a former Republican Party newspaper editor[7]).
No, I'm not joking. If you think that the Tribune's editorial board isn't conservative enough, that's an indication of just how far to the right you are.
