CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1) McCain helped create the McCain-Fiengold bill which would have silenced Talk Radio for good..... He has voted for and against Abortions and other issues as it was convenient for him to do so
2)A Balanced Budget? 2 steps 1- Pay off the National Debt 2 - Start Returning Tax Money to where it belongs - my pocket 3 - sales taxes not income taxes.... don't penilaize Americans for making money or saving money.... then we will buy more stuff and you can get your money off that... you have to stop pork barrel spending and stuffing your back pockets? too bad.....
3) I'd rather vote my Conscience than vote for the lesser of two major evils.... that's the justification that got Hitler in office... that got us so many years of Economic Depression under Roosevelt.... that got North Carolina into the mess it's in.... (don't vote for Canaidate C or the Dems will lose.... there are many many many family tradition Dems in this state.... they use the same logic on Nader)
4) A Spoiler Canaidate is not always a bad thing..... unless you are resigned to "he's not a major party, therefore he can never win" need I remind you, this country has changed major parties before?
5) If The Populace votes for the State House and Senate and the Federal House and the State House and Senate Nomiatte their canaidates to the Senate we no longer get Hillary Clintons, Nancy Peloisis and the like in.... we get canaidates that will not care what the big business that got them the most votes wants... they will obey the State House and Senate and work for them.... and thus work for us... and more power will be ours.... power to the people......
seriously... "All Powers hereby not given to the Federal Government are given to the states or to the people"
by the way.... go do some digging.... it's more than just a few bills... it's a lot... the longer he's been in office the more his Conservative rating has gone downhill....
but enough of this thread hijack.....

Yes, I love VA! I've been to over half the states and this one is my fave by far
